Brag moment! I got to chat with Aaron for a few minutes today and he said he "smoked" his ESWS test! I'm pretty sure he'll do some boards before/when they pull into port next time and then he should be fully qualified!! Hallelujah!

NavArm-yMom, congratulations that is great news that your son is on vols.  If he drops off the radar for awhile that is okay.

My son told us not to go to Power School graduation because he was flying home that day anyway and he did not want us to spend the money.  We did go to Prototype graduation which was 4-1/2 hour drive we drove to Ballston Spa the night before.  We attended the ceremony and drove home that same day.

Thanks Kat.  They is very helpful.

Siblueslady - Power school graduation is nice if you can attend, but it is hard to go there then just have your son's come right back home with you.  that being said, could you go in a few days early?  After Comp. on Tuesday you can have them out that evening.  On Wed. they have to work, but it's usually a little shorter day, then on Thursday they have rehearsal and it's usually done by noon, so they have the rest of the day off.  Usually.  Might give you and your husband a little time to explore Charleston on your own, then some time to spend with them and you could maybe all fly home together?  Remember that their first day of leave IS on Friday, starting right after the ceremony, IF they are taking it then.

Thanks William in Nashua,

My Son finally ;) communicated with me.  He is 2 months in on power school and on volunteer hours because his grades are so high.  Sounds like a great accomplishment!!! Calling his Mom once in a while would rank way up there too!!! ;)

Hi Everyone.  My twin boys will be graduating from Power School the beginning of May.  I've heard that this is an important graduation and their Father and I were hoping to go and spend a couple of days in SC.  The boys want to fly home directly after.  Now we are thinking of not going to the graduation and waiting till later on going to see them and spending some time before they go to Prototype school.

Any thoughts.  We are  so confused.

While it's not a "whoopie pie", there IS a Moonpie shop in Charleston right on Market Street. It is truly a blast from the past--all sorts of toys and stuff that WE all grew up with. When my ex and I went up for our son's grad from Power School, we went in there and must have spent at least an hour looking/playing with stuff. Then they sat outside and drank RC cola with some salted peanuts in it (just a couple) munching on Moonpies.

Dor...you and your boys are always in my prayers. So happy to have heard from you!

Mary, I'm with you--brownies! Although, one day I went to lunch with my boss and his wife and instead of "lunch" I had dessert--fried Ravioli's filled with hot fudge and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I buzzed for 2 days with all that sugar! :)

Comment by William in Nashua on March 4, 2013 at 9:17am

Whoopie pies originate from Maine ladies. Les Quebecois pas les Amish.

Dodie, Congrats!!  What exciting news...twins... I don't even know your son, but I would love to see his face when he gets that news!
