J's mom why not just wait until he is in Phase 2 or 3 or A school before you  deliver the car, since he cannot drive it before then anyway?  That is what we did when we visited Goose Creek two months ago.   It does a car no good just sitting in a parking lot for a month without being driven.

quiltblue- I can't believe that had that much of a fit over the speeding ticket. Aaron was told the tattoo thing was a huge no-no along with underage drinking/DUI sort of trouble. But he said something like a speeding ticket wouldn't be a big deal if he just told them right away so they could take care of the paperwork... Maybe he got in before they were seriously overmanned?

MomShip11- Welcome. :) Looks like these wonderful moms have already answered your questions. If you have any more, please don't be afraid to ask. We're all here to help each other through the bad days and good. :)

On another note, I sure hope Aaron had a better day at work today than he did yesterday. His four day weekend needs to come FASTER! haha. Hopefully this next week flies by. :)

Hello!  Our son is Graduation AUG 5th and flying to Charleston S. Carolina for Nuclear Engineer Program - Power School - Are they allowed to have XBOX at school?  When do the fly home to visit?  How Long?  Can we fly up from CA to visit him for a weekend during school?  Do you think he could have his car shipped out so he can have his car during his 2 year schooling?  questions...questions.. questions..

My son got a speeding ticket about 30 days before leaving to BC... you would have thought he "sinned" big time the screaming that was done at the Recruiting office he said. WOW! He came home shaking and afraid that he was going to get kicked out... here he is 24 (almost 25) years old and he is shouted down by three men under the age of 22 yelling at him for his stupidity, etc.

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on July 21, 2011 at 11:58am

My son also had tattoos and was told not to add any.  After A school he got a chit and was able to get another.  He looks quite decorative these days.

When he was DEP he went in weekly and trained with the group to make sure they maintained the way they were supposed to.  But he didn't want any trouble so he did something daily, whether it was running, weights, whatever.  He had no probs at BC.

Just a quick jump back to the weight topic.  My son & wife came to dinner last night, so I found out more.  Apparently every Depper (at least around here) has to meet with a Master Chief 2 months and 1 month before BC.  My son was within the limits, but MC told him to lose another 5-10 lbs to be safe as many times MEPS measures different.  Son thinks he had it easy, cuz in front of him was a DEPPER who got a tattoo since signing his contract and that is apparently a big no, no while you are a DEPPER.

I'm having a deja vu.  I remember Emily asking us a question maybe almost a year ago.  Maybe it was in a discussion.  It had to do with how we knew our husbands were the one.  (If I remember right.)  This conversation sounds very similar.  I'd love to hear Mark and William chime in.  My story, hmm I wrote it back then and ZI think that was probably enough for me.

I think we're kicking more pirate butt than we are kicking butt in the middle east...

RE: the t-shirts ... just learned that you can only get one shirt at $5 per order .. others are $9.49 each ... free shipping for over $25 orders ... can also get cheap custom bumper stickers so I've done the Navy nuke one.
