Hi all - my son is now at RTC with PIR date of 7/22/11.  He will be attending A school in Charleston.  I was just wondering what his schedule will be like there.  Will he have any liberty time while at school and would he be able to have visitors?

Can anyone give me info on this?

Elizabeth, your poor foot - feel better!

And don't ever ever ever feel bad for not being at something of your childs. So many kids don't get to have their parents, and boo to your son for not LOVING you being there! Those boys.....give them an inch and they take a mile. :) I think it's awesome that you are sooo committed to your kids. I know not everyone can make it for financial reasons, etc and absolutely nothing against them, but since you are able, I think it's awesome that you want to be there to celebrate all of his accomplishments. I don't think your son is smothered - granted, I've never met him, but 95% of the time he is on his own, one weekend won't hurt him now. And as for growing up, look at how successful he is - that is in large part to YOU!

Bink and LadyLove had a neckerchief rolling party the night before and wouldnt iron their uniforms at the hotel because they might get wrinkled on the way back to base. they also wouldnt stay over thursday night because they would get wrinkled driving back to base!

I just called Bink and asked if the guy in front of him during grad was from Wyoming and he said "of course". and even weirder--Bink was born when I was in the Air Force and he is technically (by social security number) from South Dakota so they were right next to each other from birth!

and lest anyone think I am heartless--until Target screwed up our family and separated us except for 3 day weekends and school breaks, I attended EVERYTHING any of the three kids did! I had one soccer season when all three played and practiced on the same night in a 50 mile loop so all I did after work was drive to soccer practices! Target kind of ended that so unfortunately, I never saw Katie play the trombone and have only seen her sing once. I did get to watch her play basketball twice and I never missed an Erie Bell game that Andrew played in.  Target really sucks!

Connie, my son also graduates from power school on 10-7.  I was talking to him last night and said something about, just think, only a litle over 3 months till you're done with power school.  He said, It's 92 days actually, but who's counting!

Binker's mom--that's just too cool they stand next to each other.  My son-in-law took many photos of an "unknown" sailor he thought was Jeff.  We asked him why he was "stalking" that poor guy.  He told it us it was just like the old Where's Waldo books... Yes, the are all so handsome!!

I'm one of the moms who attended everything; even if the kids "forgot" to tell me about it.  I don't regret it at all.  My mom didn't come to see me and I've always felt bad, so, I'll have to see if my kids follow my actions (which means it was good) or do the opposite.

Connie~he wouldn't let me touch his whites even though in high school he called me the "ironing queen"  (no, I didn't iron socks or underwear)

MAMMAJO! Were you taking a picture of your boy or my Binker? Yours is second from the left--mine is second from the right! Aren't they both just too handsome?

Connie, Where have you been...long time no post!  When I was at graduation and I was doing the Five loads of laundry at the Villas that he brought me (at my suggestion) he told me not to bleach his white unitform.  He said wash it twice and throw it in the dryer.  He then asked me if I knew how to iron reverse creases.  I said, "How hard can that be?"  THen late one night befor ethe graduation I turned the uniform inside out and put the iron on it from the Villas and YIIIKKKKEEES I almost ruined the uniform.  THe iron had this gunky stuff on it.  I pulled it off right away and picked the gunk off and stopped right there.  He was very relieved the next morning when I told him about my fiasco.  I know he is very picky with his uniforms.  He told me he has a Rowenta iron.  I said...."wwwhhhoooaaa, how cool is that?"

Some of you may notice that I am online more today.  Well, I started the morning off at work by dropping a wooden dollhouse on my foot.  It hurts sooo much and I am at my desk now for the remainder of the day.  Teach me to leave my office and try to play witht he kids!!!  My dog woke up this morning lame...I think he walked too much yesterday and jumped up on the couch once or twice.  He had a knee replacement so both of those things are a no no.  Maybe I should just go home and take a motrin and lay next to him.
