For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My husband is taking me to the gun range this Friday. We have guns & ammo but I've never learned what to do with them as I have an aversion to guns. Now, I want to know how to safely use one if someone comes kicking my front door down. The world has gone crazy. Prayers for peace and resolution of injustice.

We live in the same town and I live in the historic district not too far from downtown where the "peaceful" protesting was taking place. From where I live, the protests were anything but peaceful. I heard helicopters all night long, starting long before the 7PM curfew. There were also many loud bangs throughout the night that I hope were fireworks. It sounded like a war zone over here. The CVS on Third & Market Street was looted. I slept with a loaded shotgun next to my bedroom door and a Glock on the nightstand.

Our city had protests last night and we had curfews from 6pm-6am. For the most part everything remained peaceful in our area. I know that Los Angeles had a little more looting but it's quieted down there too...I hope everyone continues to stay safe.

Comment by Scram on June 2, 2020 at 9:11am: We did get an invitation to the PS graduation. It came about a month before the date with a “disclaimer “ about the rigors of PS and that graduation was not a given so to keep in touch with your sailor and plan accordingly.

Northwoodsmom - It may still be just a little early before your son has information as well. As I recall, it wasn't until about a month - month/half before my son's graduation, that I started calling to "bug" him, so that I could get reservations made. He had to wait until his SLPO had given them the definitive. Also, if they have graduation open, he will be asking for DOB, ? SSN, and address of residence, I think for those attending. For A school, I believe we received a little invitation card, I don't think there was one for PS, and I don't recall on Prototype. Sorry.

When my son graduated there were only 3 ET in his class or maybe I should say ship. If there is anyone out there with a daughter graduating on September 11 I would surely appreciate any information you could give me. He is in A school in Goose Creek. Thanks again.

Comment by JayDee659 on June 1, 2020 at 3:20pm: Northwoodsmom, were you asking about class/graduation schedules? An idea is to find a mom in this group who has a daughter in your son's class. My daughter was excellent at communicating dates, changes, etc to me. I in turn shared it with the mom's who had Nukes in my daughters class since their boys weren't sharing very well. Generally speaking the girls communicate these types of details more efficiently. I know some guys are good but not always.

Just a thought, hopefully it helps.
