Northwoodsmom and SparkJags-  Mine was 24 when he started the process but expected to turn 25 before BC started.  Because of many things they said it would not be an issues.  He is 25 now and is not the oldest in his A school for ETNs.  I think he told me one of this classmates is 28.

B'sNuke, it was 60's this past Sunday so it isn't always cold! But Cabo sounds awfully wonderful. I'm doing OK. Half done with radiation. My sailor has not liked being far from home while Mom's been sick but I've been so blessed in that all looks very good and it hasn't been that bad. FYI for those who don't know I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer this past November. Surgery followed by radiation and I should be good to go.

I've followed everything here just not chiming in much. You moms are the best. The NE Navy moms are having lunch on Saturday. I just love my Navy Moms!

Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

NancyJo - Hi!  How are you doing?  N's girlfriend just visited him this past weekend in NE.  They had a wonderful time....it was pretty cold though lol!  Believe it or not we're getting wind here in SoCal and it's been cold - freeze warnings at night.  Right now it's 41 but feels like 33.  That's not normal for us!!!  One month from tomorrow hubby and I head to Cabo for a week.  Can't wait!!!!  Looking forward to some nice R&R.

Canuka - Thank you!! I think my husband was pinching himself last night. He kept repeating, they really did it!!

Sandy & Cathyhend - Welcome to Nuke Moms group!

Canuka - I miss Charleston!  I just recently came across a vintage children's book about Charleston, so it is sitting next to my recliner. I am learning a few things I did not know when we visited during Nuke school.

Velvetenor - Be sure to read my discussion above, A school daily schedule - a sailor's perspective. My son is ETN3 and we have other ET mom's on here as well, so feel free to ask any questions. It is not uncommon for the ET's to have to wait several weeks to class up. Remind him to get his UIs (Under Instructions done and out of the way.)

Velvetenor - woohoo!  BZ to your new Sailor....now it's hurry up and wait lol!  You'll get used to it ;-D

Canuka - glad you had a nice time in Charleston - it is a beautiful place to visit!

cathyhend - ok, I gotta admit - I did lol at that one.

Hello all

Checking in from Charleston airport.

It is sunny and nice here today. Not so last Friday for the graduations. A-school was early and indoors while Power School grad was outside in the cold drizzle. A new PS class was weighing in before our ceremony. Our son had a few days of liberty but no leave. It looks like a long T-track.

Thank you all for your advice and support. We are certainly enjoying the excuse to come to Charleston.

Chipmunk - Congrats to you KC Chiefs.

Hi everyone! My Sailor had his PIR on Friday and arrived at GC safely on Saturday! Woo! It was so great to see him this past weekend, and now he has his phone and can call and text me, so I feel SOOOO much better that the lines of communication are open again!

Now the waiting begins - we thought that he was going to class up for A school next Monday, but when he got to GC on Saturday he said that they told him he might not class up for another 6-8 weeks. We knew this could happen, we were just hoping that he might have gotten lucky and been the last ones into the early class.

His rate is ET, and he arrived with 2 friends, another ET and an EM. He ended up with no roommate, for now, but his EM friend is right next door. He tried to see if they would move his ET friend in with him to be his roommate, but that didn't seem to fly, unsurprisingly. LOL!

Anyway, I am looking forward to hanging out some more with all of you in this group, and learning all the Nuke stuff there is to know! :)
