For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by Chipmunk on October 29, 2019 at 9:50pm: New Adventures - Your son should be able to tell you fairly soon when his graduation date should be. They should have a calendar with all of the weeks laid out with their study schedules and tests. From my memory - 2017 - 2018 my son classed up about the first week in Oct. that would have put 24 weeks (not counting Christmas stand down) at the 2nd to last Friday in March, which was not his original grad date so they must have made some allowance then for holidays. His grad date was to be the 31st of March as I recall and instead became the 7th of April, I think - because of the "historic" snow fall that hit GC right after New Year's Day!

So, I would plan for some time around the last 2 Fridays in March or 1st Friday in April, but nothing is set in stone until about a month before graduation and then - well there is always the exception!!

LIfe stays busy always. My son is out for sea trials in the USS FORD. I mention it because it is has been in the news. We have rain here that as I told B'sNukeMom the other day, I wish we could send your direction. I would still like some sunshine and warmth! I have too many projects that I need not too hot and not too cold temperatures to deal with.

I'm in CA too and yes, these fires are just too much (I'm in SoCal so not too bad in my area) and the winds are supposed to be worse again tomorrow -the firefighters can't catch a break :( Nice that you'll get to see your son at Christmas - definitely something to look forward too! Where is your son at in the pipeline?

Keep in mind that any packages they have to go to the mail room and pick up. I tried to plan my packages to arrive on a Thursday so they had time to process them, and then my sailor could pick up on Friday after class or Saturday morning before noon.
