OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by ProudOfK on June 4, 2019 at 8:31pm: Freebird - I haven't seen your post but when my son went through the retakes were the next week after graduation. And the sailors doing retakes were required to watch grad and I don't believe there families were allowed to attend. I know all this because one of my sons good friends had to retake. On the good side it seems that the majority of those that retake pass on the retake. And in my sons friends case he not only passed but he has completed the pipeline and is in the fleet.

Regarding the retaking of PS comps, in general, I think they try to get it done before graduation, but it doesn't always happen and then I don't recall if the sailor is rolled back or not. My son would recall because I think it happened in his PS, but I am not able to check with him at the moment. Hopefully another mom will be able to answer.

Mona...how fantastic that his great grandfather is able to attend his graduation. Would love to see that picture. Power school graduation is so amazing. Enjoy every moment!

Just a reminder for those attending Ft. Moultrie and other museums or parks, take advantage of the military passes that your sailors can receive. They can get a free National Park Pass that will get them and I think the family (don't quite remember) into Ft. Moultrie.

Also look up the Blue Star Museum Program that is good through the summer till labor day. I think I am remembering correctly. When we were in Houston, TX our sailor would have been able to have gotten the entire family into the Museum of Fine Arts for free. We ended up doing the van Gogh exhibit, so had to pay, but he received his military discount for himself and the ticket purchase for that, paid for the rest of the museum as well.
