Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Called her when I got in the car because she was texting me and talked for my 30 minute commute. What did we talk about I got a narrative of her cleaning out her bunny house, checking her hydroponic garden and her dogs new toy. Niw I'm home and see she's sent me photos if everything we discussed. Wow. It's nothing or everything .

The only way I survived was channeling the nervous energy to other activities (work, Christmas decorating, cooking, “mom”Ins my daughter who is working on her doctorate, planning vacations, etc.). I was also blessed to have a new co-worker who was a 20+ year Navy vet who was actually a former sub commander. Helped me stay sane! Hang in there! Prayers sent your way.

Comment by Kbpoohbear on January 31, 2019 at 2:28pm: Mine was little (maybe 5) and he told me he was not a baby and to stop being a mom. I told him one of us needs to die for that to happen. It is hard pulling back but I am proud that he is showing me, he listened to me and learned. If only he talked more.

Now he is on a submarine somewhere in the ocean. ..it is so hard, but I'm learning to channel all my worries in a different direction. I feel like I'll always want to "mom" him, and it's so hard not even knowing where he is and when I'll hear from him!

I looked at him, shook my head no, and told him I would "mom" him forever. At the time he was not too happy to hear that. My response? Oh well... (I can say I have backed off a little.)

FLmom- I know it's both the planner and the mom in me trying to make sure he's good to go. I know he can do it on his own, but sometimes he's so smart he's stupid lol. Plus he's of the mindset of "it's too soon for me to look into this". I'm guessing he'll have to learn the hard way.

Tulip and Anmarie- I'm glad your sailor is back! I know you must be so happy for him to be back. Mine isn't even close to getting any kind of orders, and I try not to think too much about it. I know I'm gonna be a disaster when he does.
