PacNWmom, I really don't know what will happen next, but I am pretty sure that it is entirely up to the Command. If this is really unusual for him and he is otherwise in good standing, he might just get a Letter of Instruction and they will work something out about the test. There isn't anything you can do about it, and not even much he can do other than grovel appropriately. Try not to stress too much -- it will work out in the end.

Boy am I glad I signed up when I did. I can't imagine how I would survive this adventure without all y'all.

Which brings me to today's question from this distressed mom:

My son called this evening to say that he (inadvertently of course) slept through his 50% prototype exam. He is beside himself upset and frustrated. I could explain the whole scenario, but let's just say this: It was scheduled at the very worst time for him in terms of watches and sleep deprivation. He went in as soon as he woke up, even though he knew it was far too late to take the test, just to let them know he hadn't just blown it off.

So here's my question - What happens next? He has been doing well up to now in all his classes and on his watches. This is his first big screw up.

My heart is aching for him right now. I know he's been homesick for the last couple of months, and this won't help one bit. I decided it was not the time to tell him my bff had to put down her 9 month old puppy yesterday. I'm not a dog person *at all*, but I loved him immensely.

I'm a sad Mama this week. :(

I agree that this site I like much better than FB. It just feels more like a conversation and feels more secure and private.

I'm not sure but I sent a message to the other mom I've been talking to.  I'm hoping she can give me a contact name/#.  I'll pass on whatever info I get.  Otherwise i'll do a little digging & see if I can come up with the info.....I'll keep you posted.

I like this site much more than Facebook. On FB you have to weed through all the other stuff, and stuff gets missed. Here it is dedicated. Any idea what office of Young and Rubicam we should reach out to?

Comment by B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet) on September 21, 2016 at 12:20pm

This is info I received from another Navy mom on here.  We've been talking back & forth about the problem for months now.  It was back in April when they stopped accepting new members and there are no admins on the site - hence no new members being allowed.  The only reason we occasionally get new members here in the nuke moms group is because they were already a member of N4M but just hadn't joined the group before....

Campbell Ewald, the Detroit-based advertising agency that created Navyformoms.com for the Navy, lost the U.S. Navy's recruiting account almost exactly a year ago after having it for 15 years. Young and Rubicam is now the agency of record.  Campbell Ewald had faced legal problems after it sent usolicited recruiting messages on behalf of the Navy.

Maybe we all need to start calling Young and Rubicam to see what's going on.  If enough people start calling maybe we can get some action.  Otherwise, yes, it's possible this website can go bye-bye.  I know there are lots of FB groups out there but not everyone is on FB.  It is very frustrating!

I don't understand how you can just drop this site and leave it hanging. Will it eventually collapse? Is there anyone we can contact abut this? Frustrating!

Patti - Thanks for sharing the photos of your dad's funeral.  The service looks like it was very nice. I'm so glad both your kids were able to make it....sorry about the troubles for sailor son though :(

Lynn - what is your son going to major in?  Mine's doing mechanical engineering.  It's been going well so far (only 4 weeks in) but he had a brutal (his words) calculus test last week & said he's going to have to spend more time with the tutors & study group.  He said the first test wasn't too bad but the 2nd one was tough!

Hope everyone is well & I'll keep my fingers crossed I can get back on the website today ;-)

Hi all - Happy Wednesday! Been having computer troubles here at work and haven't been able to get on to the website. I asked our IT guy and they researched it and said it has something to do with the websites IP address....frustrating. They told me to contact whomever runs the website & talk to them! Haha - that's the problem - no one is running the website anymore.
