MarkAnthony'sMom- I assumed that was the problem. We had a lot of that here, in Maryland, too. But I feel like we've weathered that storm and are on the other side of it. Prices, here, seem to have stabilized and in some areas are creeping back up for houses. I don't see as many foreclosures or short sale advertising either. Very interesting! Thanks for the insight.

Hi Britefuture- I live in San Diego and have lived here for 20 years. Short sales are popular because around 10 years ago banks gave everyone risky loans and a lot of those loans are coming to full term now. The homeowners aren't able to afford their mortgage payment so banks are allowing them to short sale because they owe more than the house is worth! Excellent time to buy...especially if you can get a great deal! It's a buyers market. Good luck! :)

Wow! It took me 1 1/2 hours to catch up, lol. Busy, busy.

Welcome to all of the new members.

Congrats to all of the Sailors that have passed more and more exams and milestones.

Happy Birthday Boy Wonder! Love the pictures that were posted.

I'm happy to read about visits with Sailors. I miss my boy! Since he made Division, I don't hear from him as much. That actually makes it easier, in a way. I know that he is safe and very busy, saving the world, lol. The last message I got was when he asked me to do some research for him on housing in San Diego. On the same day, my daughter informed me that she is not going to Hawaii but that the Army is sending them to San Antonio, Texas, instead. So at least my grand baby will be closer than the islands.

SoCal friends....In doing research on San Diego places, I noticed SOOOO many Short Sales. Whats going on over there? I thought that was "the place" to live?

KAM Mom - so nice that you get to visit your ET fairly often. I'm sure he enjoys it too!  I hope things are going well for your hubby with his treatments....Some day hubby & I plan on getting back to Charleston for a longer visit.  Fall sounds like a good time!

NancyJo - by all means use the picture for your son's bday!  I borrowed it from someone else ;-)

It is so nice to see our A-school ET every now and then.  Our advantage is living in SC about 2 hours away.  Our daughter and her husband live in the greater Charleston area as well.  We have been making regular trips to MUSC for cancer surgery and so are in the area frequently.  We actually went to church with our sailor and his GF this past week and then out to lunch.  He is doing very well and is at the top of his class.  The weather is getting a little cooler down here...the winters are generally mild with only occasional dips below freezing.  Come enjoy the Palmetto State!!!!

LOL that happy birthday sailor minion is hilarious! I'm saving it for my sailor's birthday in October if I may.
