Hi everyone!

Welcome to our new members. Wow! Just getting to GC. Now there's a journey that I would not want to repeat. My son's time at GC was so stressful. Good days, bad days, "don't worry Mom", vehicle purchases, trips to the beach, glow-in-the-dark frisbee tournaments, hours upon hours of mandatory study time, tests failed, tests aced, comps. Ugh! It was quite unsettling and I could not have made it through without the N4M family. So to all of the newbies, this is the place to come for support. No one can understand this journey unless they've gone through it. So, welcome and hold on tight.

BTW my son is a MM currently on deployment on the USS Roosevelt.

My favorite Sailor has also been quiet lately. I suppose they're busy doing Nuke stuff, lol. He recently made Division and warned that he may not be able to message as much. At least I got a heads up this time.

I have to make a tough decision in the next few weeks. I may have an opportunity to go to Nursing school next year. I want to go full time but in doing that, I would have to hold off on traveling to San Diego to see my son's ship arrive. I would also have to wait to go to Hawaii to visit with my daughter and grandson who are being relocated there in December. Decisions, decisions.

I hope you are all well. Prayers to you and your families. (((N4M)))

My son finished Nuke school back in April. He's stationed on a carrier in VA. Been in the Navy for 2 years and 4 months exactly. He's also a MM.

Yeah mine gets that way already from tome to time... and we're just starting... how far along is your son in nuke school?
Comment by BoyWonderMom on August 10, 2015 at 6:36pm
Yella Horse Gal, I just meant that he's been really quiet lately. He really doesn't communicate that much usually, but lately he's been insanely quiet. At least for me. He's surface and in overhaul. I know he's got a few minutes to text his mom, still not used to this.

Welcome to Nuke moms Yella Horse Gal!
My sailor's been on silent mode for awhile now. Missing him so much.
B's Nuke, that's a great picture, so jealous, wish I was in San Diego again! :)

Yella Horse Gal - glad to see you made it over here!  Since your sailor just arrived to GC (Goose Creek) you'll want to make sure you read "Your Sailors Schedule Upon Arrival to GC" on the right.  This will give you a good idea of what's happening and when.  And of course feel free to ask any questions you may have!

Welcome aboard, Yella Horse Gal! Glad you could join us! Make sure you look at the documents to the right. Tons of info there for you. Of course, we are always here with a helpful hint or a shoulder to cry on. Tell us a little about your sailor!

Yella Horse Gal:  I LIKE your name!  I had me a yella horse once - his name was Gopher.  A misunderstanding over his name in a 4H meeting found me a friend for life.  LOL

Welcome!  What stage are you going through?  Boot Camp?  Let us know!
