AParents our Sailor decided to ask his leader if he had watch after PIR and since he asked, he got it!  He was so upset.  Tell your Sailor not to ask and keep your fingers crossed he/she doesn't get watch. We saw him after PIR for about an hour then he had watch for a couple hours then we got him around 4:30/5:00 and we had a nice dinner after that.  He did have to be back by 9:00pm and at the airport at 12:30am on Saturday.  We met him there and stayed with him until 7:30am when his flight left for Goose Creek.  Bring kleenex for that "see ya later".  That was a tough one.  You just get them and then they are off again.  Part of the program but it was still tough. Hope this helps. :-)

My son graduated on 7/24.  He was able to leave with us right away after PIR.

Hey, another quick question. I see some parents in the general forum who say they didn't see their sailor after PIR until 3pm. Others say their sailor got to go with them directly after the Liberty call. Which way does it go for NUC's. Or is it different for every sailor? Thanks in advance to those who have been through this recently.

Hi all - Happy Thursday!

Funny how different kids can be. Mine both like me to stay as long as possible. I get a military family gate pass and we visit till they board. The first time my Ex was my ride home and he wanted to leave right away. My son later called and said, "Man, I turned around and you were gone, made me sad."

Brightfuture. Tell your son to put a set/cold black tea bag on his burn. Tea is an excellent burn healer and the cold feels good.

Do they begin new MM classes every week or two? Once a month? Can someone say about how many MM's are in each class?

Comment by JustaMom on August 5, 2015 at 1:43pm
I have a MM son who started A school on 7/20 but he is in 1543A. We are going down to visit over Labor Day weekend. My son isn't sure if he will have overnight privileges by then.

Hi everyone!  Hope y'all are having a great day!  Thank you TJ for getting back to me on the MT rating.  So, I have a couple more questions.  1)Are there any moms out there with MMs in class 1542A?  2)My sailor started A school on 7/20.  He has asked us to drive down & bring him some of his stuff.  We are planning on going Aug 21st.  What are the chances he will be at the stage where he might be able to have overnight leave that weekend?  3)Baisically we will only have Saturday to do some sight seeing.  What are the one or two must see sights and where is the best place to get some low country cooking?

Well first off - Happy Belated Birthday Donna!  Hope you had a nice day ;-)

Secondly - so glad to hear that your son is figuring out what might be the issue!  Good to know that he was able to move his seat back with the others - sounds like he is already feeling better ;-)
