For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

BoyWonderMom - so nice you get to pop over to VA for quick visits! I'm really hoping we can somehow make it before sailor deploys. Going to take some planning....I sure hope I can make it work ;-)

I have the weather for VA listed on my phone, yep it has been hot there lately. Hubby says only saving grace for sailor right now is that he is out on an underway. Hubby said "hopefully he's enjoying the nice ocean breeze!". Somehow I don't think that's happening lol! We're in for some HOT weather here in CA this week too....At least we don't have as much of the humidity.

Comment by BoyWonderMom on June 15, 2015 at 10:20pm: Just back from another trip to VA. Didn't really go to visit my son but since we were staying so close he came to visit with us. He received his badge so is now working on the Lincoln 12 hours a day. Manages to do everything else after coming to the barracks and Saturdays and Sundays to rest and study. Prototype all over again :) he's actually enjoying his time inside that formidable carrier. Got to go on the flight deck, he says is full of construction material but still amazing. Not much time to do anything else after work, very busy! The weather in Newport News and Norfolk this past week was scorching hot!

I would love to introduce myself when the time comes! Congrats to your sailor for passing. Mine was home this weekend for his 4 day weekend, and goes back tonight.
