To NonnaB,   So happy for the celebrations over your daughter!  That is exciting.  And to have your  Nuke son attending just added another level of excitement.   I am sorry about the loss of your dear canine friend.  Dogs are really wonderful and your fond memories are special also, but there is the loss of its presence...the eyes, the wagging tail, the snuggle.  Blessing to you in Jesus' name as you adjust.

NonnB - dogs don't live near long enough.  Congrats on all the good things happening and hugs for your loss.

Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

NonnaB - Well it sounds like the party was great fun and to have your nuke there too - wonderful!  So sorry that the weekend ended with such a dark cloud.  It's so hard when we lose our fur-babies.  Hugs to you...hopefully in time you can rescue another doggie so you won't be without!

To the right - under the member profiles - are some different pages that are written from a sailors perspective but they are more about prototype....

I just had to talk about my incredible weekend because I think it illustrates life perfectly. We celebrated my daughter's birthday this weekend when she and her (new, as in I got the call on Thursday!) fiancé came to visit from MD. My fabulous DIL came over with my amazing grandsons to help in the celebration. Then my Nuke texted that he had somehow rearranged his schedule so that he could be there for the engagement/birthday party! So much happiness! Then the dark cloud appeared: our dog passed away on Sunday. My Nuke had adopted her in Charleston but we took over her care when the first grandson was born. She had a rough early life but a fine old age. We had a lovely burial service where each of us shared a fond memory. Now I find myself dog-less for the first time in 36 years. My other two elderly dogs passed in the last year, but the great memories all these hounds have given us have made the pain of loss more bearable.

1proudmama - my son is about half way through power school.  He struggled in A school, but seems to be doing a lot better in power school.  At least his scores reflect that.  He studies a lot and I can hear how tired he is when we talk.  I guess I should ask more questions during our conversations, but than I start to notice his answers get shorter and shorter when I do.  Funny how he talks up a storm when we talk about anything else but school.  Maybe that's my sign that he escapes the stresses of school when we don't talk about it.  LOL  Ok, so his mom's a little slow catching on.  Thanks for you comment.

NancyJo, thank you for your comment.  I have read the limited information listed, I was just hoping for more detailed info.  But you are right, my son really does talk much about school.  I do like the idea that it may be to show me that he can handle things, I just over-worry.  : )  It is nice to have everyone here, even if I'm not a really active member.  Thanks

NancyJo congratulations to your sailor, amazing acomplishment!!!
My brother in law, a recently retired marines colonel is so proud of his nephew, he always says that nothing in the military compares to a Nuke.
Our boys and girls are amazing!!!

Thanks, B'sNuke. I'll pass that on.

I have a friend who has had 2 sons go to the Air Force Academy and her attitude is that her sons are "better", if that's the word, that my nuke. It's not just me; another friend has said the same thing about her. I'm not one to toot a horn so I let it go but I confess my blood boils. Non-nukes just don't get it. Our sailors are freaking amazing!
