I think my son was the 1403 group as his graduation got delayed from March to 4-17.

Only one boat got to have the original class 1404 graduation date and ceremony. There were so many left from 1403 on the other boat that they gave that date and ceremony to them.

Somebody asked which graduation she should go to, Power school or Prototype?  Definitely Power school!!!  As I said we didn't find out about my son's Prototype graduation until days before and he wasn't even the last one to board for this graduation.  Apparently somebody boarded Friday at 3AM.  He made the graduation (Friday 9.30AM).  Another boarded the same time as graduation was and won't get a graduation ceremony.

Time for a quick update.  Monday sailor called and said he had his oral board Sunday (that would be Easter Sunday).  He wasn't sure about graduation but thought maybe Friday and that jived with what  another Navy mom had posted, so hubby and I decided to make the long drive again.  I'm glad we did, graduation was nice and we got to meet his friends and room mates.  We're back home (came home today) and he's up there stressing to get everything in order.  If you have a somebody up there needing anything he and room mates are looking to sell some items (feel free to message me).

There were not a lot of parents/family there but for the ones who had some they kept the sailors on stage so we could take pictures, most of the sailors looked a little uncomfortable about that.  They told us before hand that we should take pictures and of course I follow orders.  :-)

So the time line for my Nuke is:  got sworn in April 9, 2013, PIR June ? 2013 and graduated April 10, 2015, a year and a day after being sworn in and 22 months after PIR.

JessNukeMom, my son didn't pass his oral board the first time, he had to re-board, and eleven days later he passed. He didn't get to walk on grad day, March 27th, but I think they don't care much. I agree, is mostly for us proud parents. I only went to PIR,and Power School. I had everything ready for Prototypye Grad ceremony but other were the plans. I'm just so happy school is over! My sailor got home Friday night, all his stuff in the car and about to go out with friends, when all of the sudden he felt asleep. For 24 hours! He woke up Saturday night!!! Ate everything in sight and went out with friends. Yesterday we stayed at home and enjoyed his presence.
He doesn't have to report until May 10! I don't want the days to pass too quick!

TJ Proudnukemom - our plan was to go to every graduation too (we are in CA).  Made it to BC & A school & we were glad we went to A school 'cuz sailor didn't pass his Power School comp and had to re-test.  Because of this he didn't get to walk in the PS ceremony....so luckily we had gone to A school grad so that was our only visit to GC.  He did pass his re-comp & went to proto in BS.  We visited him twice in NY (once was for his proto grad).  Both grandma's were planning on going to the Power school grad - instead my mom went with us to visit him once in NY and my MIL was able to go to proto grad.....

B'sNukeMom  There weren't any photos probably because of the threats against our sailors.  I have photos if someone had a loved one in 1404GC and would like to see if somehow I captured their sailor walking.  If they have a last name around F then it is a possibility.  I didn't post them due to the threat.

Thanks B'sNukeMom. I'd figured we'll go to every graduation that he has, I was just trying to figure out when to bring my mother.

TJ - glad to have your sailor in GC!  Now the fun begins ;-) (And it's a roller coaster of a ride lol!)

A School grad is pretty low key, PS is a bigger ceremony and Proto ceremony depends on where your sailor is.  Mine was in BS and there was a ceremony....low key, but glad we went (even though we turned around and came right back home to CA!).  From the last few posts here I'm not sure if GC is having a ceremony from proto.....they weren't, then they were & now they aren't again?  Any chance you can get to Charleston I say go for it!  Great place to visit - lots of history. (And you'll get to see your sailor ;-))
