Hi All - Happy RED shirt Friday! And Happy 1st day of Spring!

BZ to all the power school grad's today - I know there are lots of them!  Enjoy the graduation ;-)

MichianaMom, my sailor is an MM and started Prototype mid January so that's why the earliest would be July.  Maybe your sailor is getting done earlier than that!

HaHa Cerise - don't take it personally.  The dates can change so many times and they are more concerned about getting their sign-offs, etc done then they are asking about graduation dates.  My son finally told me "when I know something, you'll be the first to know".  That was my hint to stop asking lol!  My son spent 13 months in BS (just over 9 of it in prototype).  There can be many, many delays.....it sure doesn't make it easy for us at home to plan....

Ok, my son is MARF.  I asked... and also asked if he knew any more about graduation and got a snippy response ("I told you don't know", which he told me last week, I thought maybe he had found out more).  Judging from the tone, (he's usually a pretty mellow and easy-going guy), he's very stressed.  :-(

my son went up in August S8G hes an EM also. He actually started right away. His roomie is at Marf got up their in August but didn't start class till October? roomate who hasnt had delays might graduate before him.I think its not when they arrive but class start date. But as in above scenario start date doesn't mean you will finish first. My son is scheduled to take his 100 percent test this Tuesday and the earliest rumor for graduation is April 17 but thinks it will be May. So when you hear about 100 percent test getting close.

Good point, MichianaMom  I'm not sure if the date when my son reported in at BS is the date that counts.  I know he drove up end of September.  I had so hoped he would get to stay in GC.  I love visiting Charleston.  I can't remember if he's MARF or S8G.

I should know all this, I usually keep track of everything for my family and extended family even, but getting info from my son is sometimes like pulling teeth.

Comment by MichianaMom on March 19, 2015 at 5:10pm

I think my son had to report Oct 1, and go in every day, but I don't think he started actually doing anything until December, so I'm not sure when would be considered his start date. He is the one who gave me the 1405 class number, after checking with a roomie.  He is an EM, and is at S8G, which I believe shut down this week. He took his 50% last week or the week before.  It's hard to remember when I only get a chance to talk to him on his 4-days; I guess I'll have to start writing questions down to ask him!

 1proudmama/EM/S8G/1403

I think my son started in October, for sure not August or September.

My son changed from a 1403 to 1404, when he moved to BS.  How about your son?

Comment by Cerise on March 19, 2015 at 4:49pm

 MichianaMom,

Looks like our sons were in the same class, graduated at the same time and moved to BS at the same time, but I'm pretty sure my son started prototype training in October, not 100% but think it was October.  Is your son an EM as well?

Comment by 1proudmama/EM/USSLincoln/CVN72 on March 19, 2015 at 4:27pm

michiganmom he should still be there in April my sailor is in 1403 and hearing of an April or May graduation so 1405 should be later. Is he at Marf or S8G. They seem to take turns with delays. My sons roomate is at Marf started a couple months after him but as of right now they are graduating earlier.

So sorry to hear about Navy Seal.

Cerise if yours didn't start class till december  no way would he graduate in march class is 6 months long  with delays longer. Mine started in August
