B'sNukeMom, It's going to be a very emotional day for you and your family. I'll be sending prayers your way. I'm sure your step dad would be very proud of your son and his brother.

Thank you NancyJo.  I'm sure it is going to be an emotional day....

B'sNukeMoM, I'm glad you will have both your boys for your step-dad's funeral. A military funeral with your son in dress blues is a moving image, and sounds like a dignified, honorable, and beautiful end to a special man's life. You and your family are in my prayers.

Hi all - Happy Wednesday!

Thank you foreverproudmom - and glad you enjoyed the pictures!  Remind your son to take some time on the weekends to "de-stress".  That's important!

Margavant - wow - so glad your son is ok. And, so thoughtful that he didn't want to "worry you" (eye-roll!).

Sailor & I spent the afternoon with my mom yesterday preparing for my step-dads funeral.  It's going to be at Riverside National Cemetery with Military Honors.  Sailor will wear his dress blues and he's going to carry the ashes. I'm glad my mom was able to wait until Sailor was home....

Comment by Joniana (Helen) on February 4, 2015 at 8:26am

Oh, Margavant28!  I am so glad your son is okay, but your comment made me howl -- yes, our sailor would use that same logic!  It's so sweet they don't want us to worry, but geez!!!  We've had a similar experience with our son.  Thank heavens for this group!

Best wishes to your son for the rest of prototype.  Mine is close to finishing PS.  I just try to take it a week at a time -- my nerves can't stand any more!

My son is about half way through prototype in GC.  He also is the type that never initiates calling me. In December he was in a bad car accident and totaled his car.  He was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he had numerous cat scans etc. but the only serious injury was a broken nose.  His airbags saved him after he hit a tree.  Anyway a few days after the accident we received a phone call at our home in NY from my son's automobile ins. company.  I guess our address is the address they have on rcord. My husband said to me after he answered the phone I think your son may have had a car accident. So I called him and that is when he told me.  He said I know how you worry and did not want to upset you.

B'sNukeMom, Congratulations on your Sailor's graduation! Your photos were so fun to see. My Sailor is due to graduate PS at end of March. One class in particular he's struggling with, so I worry for him and lots of prayers that he makes it through. So proud of the endurance of all these young ones!

Dittersmom, Congratulations to you and your Sailor passing his comps. You mentioned he is staying at GC for a little while and is going to help Sailors with their studies? What a great young man you have! My Sailor is de to graduate end of March,

: I would love to connect him to your son if possible. He could really use some extra help in one of his classes that he's finding pretty tough. Do you know I there's any way they CA find each other. Thanks for any info you might have!
