Hi everyone. I have  only commented a few times on this site but always enjoy reading info on this wall. My son is also living at the beautiful gated community on Blue House Road and loves it there! There are several military people there and he has been there for 6 months. I would recommend this area too. I am trying to get info from him as he learns things in Prototype. I am curious.... when does he find out orders and such. He started Prototype in October and I have heard where this can be 5-6 months. Thanks for your information and I love how so many of you support and encourage each other as parents!

Hi everyone!! I'm so sorry that it's been so long since I've posted. I have been watching.

B's and cybermom - so excited for your sailors! I know they're proud and hope you both get to attend the prototype graduation. If you do, please pick me up an extra "spinner" coin? My sailor liked the one I got so much that he took it and I need one de the collection box I'm making for him for his retirement! Lol

CoTwin - I hope school is going well and that you get news on the sale of your old place soon. You have a knack for landing on your feet, so my money's on you!!

I got to spend 3 lovely weeks with my sailor before the holidays as he was changing duty stations. It was food to spend time together. We were not on good terms when he joined, and we works through those issues. I can say this: the Navy Nuke program turned my slacker, college drop out and turned him into a young man who owns his $#!t and handles his business. Color me very proud and a good bit relieved with a tiny bit of awe mixed in because it's certain I couldn't do that! Lol

My guy who wrecked 3 cars in 2 years ( some may remember the car he drove off an icy road into a ditch 20 minutes after he purchased it in BS?), managed to drive from New York to Tampa to Knoxville to San Diego all by himself without incident!

He arrived in time to deploy and is busily working on his Dolphins, I'm sure!

Stay strong, Navy Moms. Know that I'm in your corner and rooting for you and your sailors as they go through these experiences!!

We heard from our son, he finally got his orders, he will be going to Nolfolk and his ship is the USS George Bush. He's really excited about the move but will feel better once he gets through bis oral boards.

Congrats to Cybermom and B'sNukeMom. That's terrific news. Sorry to hear that B's Sailor wont be heading west but hey....he's close to me so I feel safer already. Wink! Wink! My Sailor also asked me to send his congrats along to you and your Sailors. He laughingly said that he can't wait for them to graduate because now his class/group will be the one's being pushed through.

My Sailor was able to come home for Christmas. It was a short but nice visit. He was able to spend some time with his big Sister and his little Nephew. He was smitten. My daughter asked him to feed Emersen and when he was done, my son had a had time giving him up. It was heart-warming. He bought Emersen a 5 foot tall bear for Christmas. Yes, I said 5 foot, lol. It's huge!

CO-Twin- I haven't been on here a lot during the holidays. How is school going? Sorry to hear that the house hasn't sold yet. Fingers crossed that the offer that's coming is a done deal.

jurisprude-Wow! Not sure that's what he meant about seeing the world but I'm glad to hear that he's enjoying the little tour of the US. I've heard a lot of nice things about the USO's. I haven't been in one but my Sailor was stuck in one on his way to GC after BC. He said they were very accommodating.

Happy New Year everyone. It's a yukky, cols rainy day here in Maryland. Suppose to be 65 tomorrow. Crazy weather!

Pray, there is an offer coming in on my old home. Really need that to sell so I am not owning two.

LOL, my son joined the Navy to see the world and so far it looks like he is getting what he wanted.  On his flight home to Texas for Christmas some unexplained delay caused Southwest to have to put him and a few buddies up in a nice four-star hotel in Nashville for the night.  Yesterday, on his return flight to GC, heavy rains caused his flight to have to re-route from his Houston connection to New Orleans where he spent the night last night.  Now he is back in Houston at the USO awaiting his next connection to GC, which doesn't leave until 8:00 tonight!  Luckily he reports that the USO is very nice with leather couches and free food and drinks. Hilarious.

Congratulations to Cybermom and BsNuke Mom.  I have not posted in a while because i have been very busy at work. Our company was taken over and I was made a manager on Nov. 1st and it has been a crazy 2 months.  My son who is in prototype now had a nice apartment in ladson.  he said it was a new complex.  He was home for 4 days over Christmas.

My son passed his oral boards on New Years Day, woohoo! Just got his orders, going to Groton on the USS Providence, a sub. He's happy to be relatively close to home, and can't wait to move on. Now we wait to see his grad date.
