kfguay, that's why we are here. Come here any time you need a shoulder to cry on. If your son's sub has a group on N4M I encourage you to get on there. The other Carl Vinson moms are a Godsend for each other and I hope you find that in that group.
Try to take comfort knowing your son is excited for the adventure ahead of him and he's doing what he was meant to do. And it won't be forever. One day at a time.
From the cold, wintery midwest: So that's what green looks like? I'm trying to remember.....
Looks like it was a great day!
Son made it to Hudson OH last night and is probably close to MI where they'll spend the night with his aunt. Tomorrow, I'll have almost 2 yrs of hugs to make up for. Can't wait!
Hi All - Happy Tuesday!
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We didn't have our sailor home with us, but we had the "next best thing" LOL and college son was home & we went to my mom's.
PattiP - prototype grad is set for 1/23/15 - fingers crossed everything goes as planned!
NancyJo - enjoy your visit with your sailor as he makes his way to CA!
J's/S'sMom - I sure hope someway, somehow you can get all your kids home together for Christmas - that would be wonderful!
I think BS is the black hole for Prototype...mine graduated PS 8/1 with your Sailors and is hoping to class up on Dec 8. At least he is trying to make the most of his down time before he starts classes.
Thanks, COTwin, but I don't think the guys down in that part of the ship are bothered much by other people. Having said that, I've on the Vinson FB and N4M groups and that captain is just awesome. I think he's part of the kinder, gentler navy that we were hearing about. ;D
NancyJo, Yes will pray for safe travels. I have another N4M friend who has a son on that carrier, He is on the flight deck. I have been able to read the weakly notes from the Captain of that ship. He seems like a good guy who is an awesome leader. Really cares for his crew. Your sailor should like him.
