How early do they find out their schedule, Mamma D (if you know)?
It was my understanding that there would be no Christmas leave in Prototype at all. Is that accurate?
My son started Prototype school in BS mid-October. We're trying to figure out Christmas/New Year's plans. Does anybody know anything how the holidays will work up there? What days will they get off for sure, if any?
When he started in October, it was mentioned there would be a ~2 month grad hold after 2 months in Prototype (so would start ~mid-December), but he says they haven't said anything further. He doesn't want to be "pushy" and ask, so I'm hoping somebody else knows because maybe their son is a bit more "pushy" (good thing in my book :-).
Awe, Gee, thanks 8isanuf...
The test went well I finished last but well ahead, an hour, of the deadline. Wanted to read each question carefully as some were worded tricky. My brain just can not retain what it used to. Hope we all pass.
We had the President of the school pop in to talk about getting busy with thinking about where and what we want to do for our mandatory externship. One of my classmates is going to Japan!! I thought about Walt, Disney World, but they want you for 6 months? dont know? Or an English speaking foreign country like, England, Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand or Australia.
Well the laundry appliancee saga continued yesterday. The third dryer showed up and they had a gas line too short. I went to the store two weeks ago and told them they needed a longer one. So I got on the phone and got firm with a manager. Told her Even if I had to pay for a longer one they should have listened to me that the delivery guy said I needed a longer one. Now I have to pay someone else to install it. They are going to credit my Home depot card for the handyman bill.
Awe makes life not dull I suppose.
Need a snow shovel. I have a good sameratln who has been shoveling it for me and I saw who this AM so will be bringing him cookies.
Along for the Ride,
Yes, they can ride in cabs. My sailor went to the mall and hung out with other sailors on weekends during indoc. On the weekends, there is a shuttle bus that takes them to the mall area as well.
I have not succeeded in dissuading my daughter from visiting her sailor for Thanksgiving, despite the very good advice I got here. He will be in indoc. The main thing I need to know is--can he ride in a cab? I saw that Phase I sailors can ride "with parents," but this is not an option.
