My son texted me around midnight that he passed his PFA (with only six seconds to spare on the run!) and reports to a carrier in San Diego on December 2. He's been focused on sub the whole way but honestly I'm relieved to have him surface. Prototype was very hard for him and if he'd gone sub he'd have had the pressure of getting dolphins right away.

Son will be with the Theodore Roosevelt out of Virginia   :)

kinda surprised us thought he was heading for a sub- but the needs of the navy...said he was happy with the Roosevelt.  I told him that's because were will be females on the roosevelt!!!

ScampsMom, congrats to your new Nuke EM. I was not present at my sons A school graduation, he said it wasn't necessary so I ended up without pictures. Make sure you plan a trip for his Power School graduation, it's a grand event!

NancyJo - My offer stands!  I would love to be able to meet up with you when you are in town.....I wouldn't put it out there if I didn't mean it ;-)  And I hear you on the flights to Ballston Spa. We made it back there at Easter & it was expensive....really would like to go back again but just aren't sure.....I would love to get into the city to sightsee....it all depends on when sailor finishes proto.  Of course he says that as soon as he is done he is leaving town LOL.  We'll just have to wait and see!

Hi all - my son is an EM and will be graduating from A School on 10/24. I can't be there and was wondering if anyone else will be because I would love to get a few pics. If so, please message me so we can exchange info. Thanks!

I feel like the little guy in the foreground.

My son decided to start texting at 3AM!! But like a good navy mom i did not let him know he was waking me up. I just enjoyed the conversation. This is my IT son who is on an underway.

B'sNukeMoM, that would be fabulous! I'm hoping to visit SD over the 4th of July weekend in 2015. I'm a single in NE so flying destinations are judiciously chosen. But I'm finding SD is not too horribly expensive compared to Ballston Spa. Those tickets were $600+ which is why it has been almost 2 yrs since I have hugged my boy. His wife and kids came and visited in June which was a huge blessing, but not seeing my son is hard. They will stop for about 10 days in Nebraska on their way to SD in December. They also have to visit my ex in Las Vegas on the way so we lose a few days with them but that's the way it goes. Thanks for invite! Be careful who you invite, I just might take you up on it!
