Hi britefure, that's funny how you mentioned the Fitfy Shades trilogy. I started the 1st book but then couldn't finish it. My other sailor's name is Anastasia Rose and my name is Carla just like the characters mothers name in the book. Totally ruined it for me!

Hello N4M family.

COTwin- Belated Happy Birthday. Still dealing with the house issue????? Yikes. More prayers coming your way.

SlezaksMom- BZ to your Sailor. That's so exciting to hear. Mine was told the grad date has been moved to Feb. I kind of hope it gets pushed farther back. I'm not looking forward to another trip, mid winter, to the north.

B'snukeMom- What's the update on Marti girl? I hope she recuperated by now. Also, prayers that you soon hear some news from NDM and family.

Craig- I finally remembered to send you my address via message. Thanks for your patience.

I haven't posted in a bit. Been nursing a torn achilles and a sick 3 year old. I'm concerned that he may have that horrible virus that's been spreading cross the U.S.. I haven't heard, yet, of a case here in MD. However, it has reached PA which is only 10 miles from my house. Many of the children in his school are from one of the areas that it has been reported diagnosed. To the doctors we go, again, for more testing. My grandson is due is 11 days and we've been waiting anxiously for the call from my daughter. With my youngest so sick, I've avoided visiting her for the past week or so. My husband is taking the Fire Chiefs test this morning. So amongst everything else, we've been studying and practicing for his oral exam. My son is still doing good in BS. He called last week to tell me that they lost two more members of his class. Both because of stress. One was his partner. My son was concerned because this young man showed no signs of stress. At least not to him. He thought that he was accomplishing a lot. The other dropped because his girlfriend dropped too. That made my son mad. "To go all this way and then drop, on purpose, because a girl he had only known since arriving at BS just pisses me off", was the comment made. He feels that this young man wasted the Navy's time and money on someone that obviously did not take the Nuke program seriously. Part of me wanted to agree but I had to be his Mom and remind him that we never know what is happening in other peoples lives to make them make decisions that we don't agree with or understand. We just need to support our friends, hoping that it was their best decision and move on. My determined Sailor is still, "ahead of the curve" and is looking forward to finishing this part of his journey.

I've managed to quell my stress by starting the "Fifty Shades" trilogy. Anyone here a fan????????

Love to all

Hi everyone!!

Craig - I love the story AND the candle! I'd be willing to buy one (even a less than perfect one!) so do you have an etsy link or something you can inbox me?

I cant wait to see the coin!

hello all!!

craig--love the story! my dad was a marine in WWII.  he enlisted in 1941.  he was 19.  he came home alive, but has passed away since then.  I would like to think my grandmother was one of the mothers who put a blue star in her window.    I burn a blue candle for my son!!

Craig,
Where can we order your "dress blue sailor" candle?

btw: sorry to clog up your board. I just wanted to show you guys my cool new little design and why the Nuke coin will take a while to design.

UBU'sMom & Lynn - just message me your address and I send you a blemished one for free. Being the 1st run, I had to reject over 60% of them. When you have multiple different places doing different stuff they always mess up the 1st run. Add to that that I'm a perfectionist kind of makes life rough. ~ha
The two I recently found faulty I can't sell, but I can use to demonstrate that we can get the product to the end user undamaged.
So just message me and I'll send them to you for free. It's one of the benefits of being a non profit company.

I have an battery one that turns on at dusk and off at dawn.

I had two regular blue candles but I have two cats and always afraid they will light themselves on fire. Had that happen a long time ago. Lucky I was right there to put her out. Cats flame up really fast.  Anyway one of my twins came home for leave and asked why I had two blue candles and some other navy stuff and I told him one is to light them when you are missing your sailor. He looked puzzled for a moment then asked, "Well gee mom why have you not lit them?"

Craig, I absolutely love your candle. I must have one. Thanks for relaying the blue candle story, made me cry, but proud tears!
