@SlezaksMom, and the rest of the Nuke Moms. . .please know that we will be sending up prayers over the weekend specifically for all the Nukes with upcoming test. . .mostly so that they can be under as little as stresses possible, and keep in mind each one of them is capable!!! These sailors are the best, they just have to convince themselves of that!!! May God bless each of you as you worry about your sailor. May God continue to bless each of the paths as they travel this Navy Nuke journey!

Hi N4M family!!

I hear from my sailor last night and he is planning to take his boards tomorrow or Monday. He's been helping his shipmates study -- that's code for "we're all helping each other make sure we've got this stuff cold" the way they did in Power School -- and feels good about things.

He didn't get picked up for staff, but true to my sailor's optimism, he said he was good with it. What he likes about it are his friends...the Navy guys doing their thing right next to him. He's excited to get to the fleet and work with his crew.

Gotta get through boards first. So, if you're the praying kind, or candle lighting kind or just have a few extra well-wishes to spare, if you'do think of my sailor over the next couple of days, this nervous Navy mom would appreciate it.

Several days ago, I had asked about where to stay over Thanksgiving. I did check out that VRBO place - looked nice, but quite expensive over Thanksgiving, plus is not available during our entire stay. We are going to stay at The Inns of Charleston. They are on the Air Force base part, about 20 minutes from the Navy side, and your sailor has to make the reservations. They apparently have houses like The Villas (all full during our time frame), but they also have a regular hotel. I had never heard of them before, so thought I would share this information. Rates are $60 - $70 a night, and their phone number is 843-963-8000.

Hi All - Happy RED shirt Friday!

I know we have lots of grads today - BZ to all of them!

If you fax an LES for this sort of thing, I'd recommend blacking out (with a sharpie or similar) the social security number.  While an SSN might be required for credit applications, the County Auditor should not need an SSN to verify they're on active duty.
