Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

The two beaches my son loves are, Isle of the Palms and Folly Beach. Down town has lots of great places to eat. and many fun boutiques, dangerous for your wallet. The history is amazing. If your sailor goes in his NWU's you can get on for free to Patriots Point, where you can tour an aircraft carrier , destroyer and a sub. there is a great aquarium and a ferry to Fort Sumter. You should try She Crab soup.

Is Goose Creek a good sized town, Or what was the closest substantial town that you recollect? Charleston is about 19 miles from Goose Creek, am I correct. Sorry to pick your brain but this info is very helpful.

I rented a little "mother-in-law" cottage that was a straight shot to drive to the base. I went for Power school Graduation. That morning it took 9 minutes to drive onto base. here is the guys name and email:

It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, washer and dryer, full kitchen, air-conditioning and a beautiful little private yard with a bbq. 1 bloom off N. Rhett on Victoria Ave.

Comment by Riley's mom on August 24, 2014 at 5:05pm: Just talked to my Nuke! He has been in Goose Creek for 7 weeks now. He's not much of a talker but sound like things are going well. He said he and some of his classmates took a taxi to the beach, sounds like they had fun. I'm hoping to get some help from some of the parents that have visited Goose Creek. I have been searching the internet for some type of vacation home near the school. If you happen to have stayed in one or if you can recommend a location to start searching I sure would appreciate it. I'm wanting to rent a home later in the year probably November and wanted to have it feel like home for a few days with my sailor and the family. I'm not sure if Charleston would be my best bet or some of the beach front towns. If you have some ideas please share. thanks

Comment by cathy on August 24, 2014 at 8:02am: Joniana - My son registered his car in SC. The reason he did so was because of the car inspections. Unlike most states, the car will never need inspecting again. This is a great plus when you don't know where you will wind up. He did however,use his home address because he can't keep changing it since he has been moved around so much. He pays the fee when it comes due, online.
