B'snukemom, love the picture of your boys. Glad they had fun at the track. Our niece was trying yo meet up with them not sure if that worked out though. I know our son was looking forward to it. Im looking forward to getting up there and enjoying the sites.

B'sNukeMom, if time permits your sons might want to explore the Hudson Valley further. There are tour at West Point (United States Military Academy - the site is magnificent - west side of Hudson), Boscobel House and Garden (east side of Hudson), Storm King Art Center, Woodstock (yes, THAT Woodstock). Or take the Amtrak to NYC.  Our former sailor loved NY - didn't think it was that cold (for a CA boy).

How does holiday liberty work for new sailors in phase one? I spoke to my boyfriend today and he said that someone told him (higher up) that he should be allowed to spend the night off base, but wouldn't know for sure until he got to Charleston Labor Day weekend. I didn't think that was the case, but I figured someone here should know.
Thanks!

Mommamac - yes they are having fun!  They (including yours) went to the horse races at Saratoga Springs today.  Sounds like they are definitely having a good time & college son is really enjoying his visit....tomorrow it is off to the Baseball Hall of Fame!

This was at the races today - college son was excited - he won $15 LOL.

Oh that will be great for your twins to be together for spring break. He might be done with A School by then and will be able to apply for a chit to spend a few days with his twin. Mine got a Chit to drive up to Virginia to see his twin's ship come back from deployment when he had just started T=Track.

Looks like your boys are having fun. Spoke to our son last night and he said your younger son is a great guy. They are enjoying his visit and seeing things around town. It's great that the boys get a chance to see family during this portion of the program. I know our son was happy to see his brother, made going face to classes easier. Hope all is well with you and your hubby.

B'sNukeMom...love these pics of your boys.  So good to hear they are having a GREAT time!

My SR is really bummed that his twin won't get to come for PIR.  His brother starts college the same week as PIR so he can't go.  But...I think my college son is planning on going to visit him at GC for Spring Break.  So that will be good for them to spend some time together.

Hello! It's been quite awhile since I've posted, but am following and reading. A question has come up, and I'm not sure if anyone else posted, so I'm going to: We were originally told that GC has NO proto graduation...but recently heard that they're beginning with my sailors graduating class next Friday, aboard the Yorktown...has anyone else heard and have any info? His class number is 1305. Thanks in advance!!
