Is anyone going to be at A-school graduation on July 12?  We had originally planned on going when the date was set for July 5, so that is when our tickets are for.  We will still be there then, but will miss graduation.  Would love it if someone would be willing to take a picture of my son for us.  Thanks.

Dor, Thanks for getting a location and setting a time.  I googled  Fort Dodge a while back just to find out a little about the city.  It is a fair size.  I may have a couple other Navy moms coming with me, I will let you know as soon as I  know.

Also, what does anyone know about the Whirling Waters water park inside Wannabaker Park.  I have thought about us going here while visiting my son around the 4th of July.

When looking at a map, it looks like Wannabaker Park is not too far away.

Ladies, how would you compare the 3 gardens Magnolia, Middleton, and Cypress?  I was thinking of including one of them in my trip, if it didn't bore my son too much, ha, ha!

Ladies, I have read through the kind and encouraging comments to me.  Thank you so much.  Thank you for caring.  It really helps knowing that y'all have been there too.

I too am planning on traveling to Goose Creek to see my son.  I am planning on going for a few days around 4th of July.

Thanks again for the encouraging comments.

mini-NEX mail boxes and packages.

These mail boxes worked OK for letter's and magazines that fit in the post office boxes, but in my son's case, not packages.  They had limited hours for package pickup and after keeping one for several months he simply canceled it because the Navy mail room worked better for package pickup.

Hi jonnycat, We have been to Charleston twice since our son has been there. Patriots Point is a most but wear good walking shoes. We were there for 5 hours and didn't see it all. Downtown is fun and the food is wonderful. We had fun just seeing our son, meeting his friends and seeing the wonderful strong you g man that he has become. Have a great time.

Hi jonnycat - I bumped the Sightseeing in Charleston discussion to the top (up above).  It has some good tips on places to visit.  We were just there in April and we went to Patriots Point and the Magnolia Plantation - I would recommend them both!  Also went to Hyman's for and it was really good too!

Hi everyone, I am looking for advice on making a trip to GC to see my son while he is in A school.  Would appreciate any input as to where to stay, what to do etc.  Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the answers regarding the mail room. I'm going to pass that in to my son and hope he gets his box containing his phone before the mail room closes for the weekend.
