As long as his laptop has a wireless card which most do now, he can sign up for Comcast wireless internet. There is also a few computer labs around base.

My son will be coming to A school here. Is there anything extra that he will need for his laptop to connect to the internet. I want to be sure I can get ahold of him when he gets there : )

lovemynavyboy- the countdown for the first 4 weeks of phase one does not count until he "classes up" He will be in what they call "in doc" for the first week or so while they get enough guys to make up a class. My husband was in in doc for 2-3 weeks I think. Now he just finished phase one!

lovemynavyboy- you should wait until phase 3 because then he can stay overnight with you all weekend (that's 8 weeks) but I'm not sure the exact dates.

hi everyone!
this is my first time posting on this group. my boyfriend is flying to charleston for nuke school (MM) today! i want to visit him ASAP, but I am confused about the phasing timeline. at what point do they begin counting the days for the 4 weeks until phase two? is it four weeks from his arrival to a school (today) or four weeks from day one of classes?
thank you

Does anyone know how many people graduate from nuke school and how many don't? My son is having difficult with power school and wondering if he is capable of getting thru it. He has the maximum amount of study hours because he did bad on his last test. The instructor told them they were the stupidist class. Doesn't sound very motivational. What do you think?

no prob! don't forget--spouses don't automatically get dental insurance even if you have tricare prime. you have to enroll in the program. it's about $13 a month..you can also get the dental enrollment forms at the green roofed building) :)

thanks for the information Kathy!

Dest--there's no eye dr. on base for spouses (it's only for active duty). I'm pretty sure the dentist is for active duty too. You can go to the tricare office (green roof building on pulaski st. right next to branch medical) and ask for a list of participating practices. After you get that, you just call and set up your appt. If you have tricare prime, you usually don't have to pay for anything (unless it's a cosmetic procedure/something not medically necessary) for instance, you'd have to pay for contacts.
