Hi ladies - just wanted to poke my head in and say "hi". I'm a mom, so I've been lurking for a little while. My son was PIR 2/19, so he is just entering Phase III. Anyway, blessings to you all. You are a terrific bunch of ladies and your guys are blessed to have you! :-) You've taught me a lot, but I haven't chimed in, since my situation isn't as a wife, but as a mom. I was an army wife once though, so lots of what you are talking about I do understand and identify with. I hope you guys receive everything that you need regarding housing, funds, wedding plans, etc etc etc.

Well ladies all he found out if he can do the DITY move but we have to have $2000 + in our bank account and they don'[t pay for the plane tickets. He is supposed to do the actual housing brief tomorrow so I guess we will see then! Arrghh feeling a little frustrated with the Navy right now

He said he has the housing brief tomorrow so I guess we will see then when he gets to come home! Do you guys think they will let him leave Thurs? He doesn't start school until the 10th

My husband should be in Goose Creek right now!!! I am so excited. I talked to him early this morning before he left O'Hare and he was so ready to get out of IL. I hope I will be getting a call any moment now telling me he is on his way home :)

Thanks everyone for all your responses. Dan's mom do you have any memory of what that case cost?

as far as size, i'm not sure but i will ask my boyfriend any other specifics. I think it can't be a rolling one either... And you're going to want some sort of handle on top because when they are in dress blues/whites they can't have it on their shoulders. I think this is standard with most.
also, if they have a backpack, they can just get a laptop case and put the case inside if you can't find an inexpensive one that have a place for laptops (they get pricey).

amanda, thank you...do you know any of the other rules such as size etc? I will find an all black one before I go because he is not going to spend $100.00 he'd probably just try to carry it
