Linda, I just checked and the Army-Navy game is that day and the Monterey steel picnic party will be shown during the game. Don't know what time the game is but if I can, I will also have time to go to dinner.

I just found TheMilitaryFamilies.com which was printed in The Flagshipnews from Norfolk, VA and it gives ideas of things to mail to the military personnel. Has some good ideas. Had a great time at the Olive Garden meeting some of the NM around Columbus, OH on Sunday. Thanks to Cynthia for organizing this. I did check out the shop Cynthia and plan to be a regular visitor and may take the class in January.

I live in Clintonville which is just north of the campus area. I should be able to come on Sunday. Just let me know where. How about something around Mill Run - is that near Hilliard and just north of Grove City? I don't know where others are from.

I am from the Columbus area and would be interested in meeting other Navy Moms. My son has been in almost a year and is stationed at Goose Creek SC.

Cynthia Meyers, I am so happy to hear there are others in Ohio with family in the Navy. My Mother was in NAVY MOTHERS in New Castle, Pa over 40 years ago when mybrother was in the Navy. I didn't know the group was still in existance. My son has been in the Navy for almost 4 years, boy how time flies ,and has been on the same ship for three years. Such a thrill to tour the ship at Norfolk and see the actual place when he calls home and works. I would love to get together with other Navy Moms (grandmothers too, I have 10).Maybe other military Moms too. Let me know what is going on. Love this place to visit and to think, I just found it this week! Boy what I've missed!!!

Hi Stacey:
Hope you got your short phone call by now. Your son flew? We're from Ohio too, we dropped our son off at an airport hotel, but they actually took a bus. I probably would call the recruiter, if you haven't had a call by now. You deserve that much! (It is a short call - Hi, I'm here) but it would be nice to hear his voice and know that.

Hi Nancy H.
Yes, I have been to Lehman Hardward, my son went to the College of Wooster and I lived in North Canton, so I have been up that way quite a bit. We are in Columbus. I am sure you can't wait to see your son. It's pretty amazing when you see them for the first time. Those 2 months are so long. We got maybe 3 phone calls, and I remember wondering if he was going to graduate since we didn't hear from him. I hope they can have phones and things by then, it must just be boot camp they can't have those ties with civilization!

Hi Nancy H. I think his letters might be short because they don't have alot of time to write. My son said Sunday was the only day he would find time. Are you going to the PIR? It's not too far away. Does he know where he is going next? Your pups are cute. I'm from Ohio, but don't know Apple Creek. Is that the same as Apple Valley, probably not. Has your son been able to make a few phone calls? Where my son is now they have cell phones and computers, so you can stay a little more connected.
