The below in blue is information was posted in the RTC FB page about Grad & Go's. The black is my writing. Thought I would share!!!
We apologize for the confusion. Let me clarify what will happen for those that are staying in Great Lakes for A School and those that are going elsewhere.
For graduating Sailors that are staying at Great Lakes for A School: After graduation they will leave to check into A School (this takes place at 12:30, and can last up to 5 hours). After checking in, graduating Sailors will get liberty during the day only for the rest of the day on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. (this is awesome...if your RC stays in Great Lakes for school you get to visit all day through the weeked)
For graduating Sailors flying elsewhere for A School: After graduation, Sailors will get liberty during the day on Friday. An attempt to fly all Sailors out on Friday will be made. For the very small number of Sailors that we cannot get a flight for on Friday, we will fly them out on the next available day.

Hi. This is what I know as of now.
If they are a Grad-n-Go the NAVY is refering to those Sailors staying at Traing Support Center Great Lakes for "A" school. This means that on the day of PIR directly after graduation they will need 5 hours to move over to TSCGL.
IF they are flying out for their "A" school, they are called a Saturday Departure. In our case Friday Departure, since PIR is on Thursday. These Sailors should have the rest of the day until curfew to spend with their families. THEN, if it goes as planned, ALL Sailors flying out will be taken to the airport at around 1-2 AM. You may meet them there and spend the rest of the time with them their until they depart. There are shops and resteraunts.
We won't know what airports until we A)talk to them after they become Sailors (after Battlestations) OR B)on PIR day.
Another thing, if they are on a commercial flight we can meet them. IF they are on a chartered flight (I am assuming this a is a large group all going to the same school) we CANNOT meet them. This does not happen very often but I do know one mom who it did and she shared the story with me.
NOW, all of this is subject to change! The basics of Grad-n-Go and Fri/Sat departures don't, but there ARE exceptions. I would stick by the basics until you speak with your SR. Also your DIV group moms might have info.
You will know more when you talk to your SR. Write down the questions and ask him the next time he calls.
What I did (don't know if you can) is I booked to stay an extra day. My son was told originally that he might get Friday as liberty and leave Saturday morning. It looks like it will be Friday morning for now. I have heard of some sailors being shiped out on the DAY OF graduation but again it is not common.

Click on Families. Then there are places for the Family Guide to PIR Really look at this one. There are rules about curfew and such. They HAVE to be back 1/2 hour before curfew. SHIP 11 is all the way across the base so I would be safe with an hour. Explore the rest of it.
