For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Greetings March Ship date Moms! Looks like we have a date to look forward to. If all goes as planned, our recruits will graduate on Thursday, May 26, 2011. I look forward to seeing all of you in Great Lakes on the new Holiday, 5/26/2011

We are literally sitting here waiting for my 21 yr old son to get home from MEPS to see if he got his job and ship date today. I am becoming old hat at this!!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on April 11, 2011 at 7:40pm: I don't know about Memorial Day, but I do know that other 900 divisions have participated in parades and other celebrations off base. And when they do they usually get to make a call for doing well. :-)

Comment by diannep on April 11, 2011 at 7:31pm: I had a friend whose son graduated Memorial Day weekend last year. Their PIR was on Thurs as well, so I have a feeling the Thurs 5/26 is correct.

Comment by diannep on April 11, 2011 at 7:30pm: Jessica: I have heard that sometimes they do the PIRs on Thursdays before a patriotic holiday weekend because the 900 groups participate on Fridays in local parades, etc. Have you heard this?

(Last week after three calls and wishing for 'no news' NOW I am thinking, "How come I didn't get one!" LOL - The Roller Coaster Ride just keeps going. Anybody see Parenthood and what the Grandma had to say about that? :-]) Thanks for passing on the info! I will make sure to ask a few questions about the Div when I talk to mine and pass it on!

They're sick...oh big bummer...they don't need that! I'd be thinking, “What the heck good was it to have a sore behind for if I'm going to get sick anyways?!" But, maybe it will keep it from getting real bad.

It is good to know that they are bonding, even if 'misery' is the glue right now. I hear it can take a while and in some cases QUITE a while. I hope and pray that my SR is a part of that and I don't know about you all, but that makes me feel very proud for all of them. That they are trying to become a team.

I just booked the Navy Lodge last night for 5/25-5/31. Wanted an extra day in front and took until Tuesday in case our SR gets liberty. Luckily, that's all easy to change. Even if he is a grad-n-go, I'd probably stay an extra day. I am hoping that all the recruits will have someone, but know that that sometimes does not happen. With that in mind I hope we can provide some hospitality to any of our SR shipmates that he would like to help out. Real bed for a nap; private bathroom! WOO-HOO. Something so simple yet so special after boot!

I'm glad I didn't book the flight last night! I almost did and felt such a pull in the end not too. Now I know why.

I haven't been on a plane for 15 years and didn't fly before that. Didn't have to book that really either as it was a package thing for Hawaii. So, trying to figure it all out. Have to get 3 seats together (boys want to go-which surprised and EXTREMELY PLEASED me!), and would prefer non-stop. Yeah...so limited. Don't mind a stop, but really don't want to change planes. I need "booking flights for dummies".

Lately, it seems like I leave out one step in everything I do! Need a 'second eye' to review my work!

Really looking forward to that first phone call. Hope I don't miss it. I love the voice mail recording by one of the sailor moms. Look forward to good info on this site.

I saw that you can order division shirts from a t-shirt company on here. How does the t-shirt company know what the division shirts are going to be? Do you know if they have a hook up with RTC and that's how they find out? I would like to make my own shirt (which I could do) if I could just see a picture of his division's flag/shirt. Do you have any ideas? Plus can you get them BEFORE graduation?
