Thinking about all the yelling our recruits are going through.  I read somewhere that the first 3 weeks are called "the tearing down."  They have to tear down our civilian children so they can build them back up to being Navy men and women.  I heard in my son's voice today that he is going to make it, but it is so much tougher than he thought it would be.  I guess all the recruits are miserable but hanging in.

JessicaB - I knew that was you on the RTC Facebook page!  Boy, you really are everywhere, aren't you?!?!?!  Do you think it would be a good idea for us to add Wednesday to our already booked hotel rooms or just wait and hope that someone on the RTC FB discussion page answers this question quickly?  I would really rather it be on Thursday, especially if they have to ship out on Saturday morning.  That means we would definitely get an entire day with them.  Don't get me excited like that!!!!!!!

NewyorkerLisa:  My son texted me from the bus going to RTC saying that he was getting yelled at for being on his phone!  He wasn't talking/texting to me so I didn't respond.  Some kids sure do have to learn lessons the hard way.  Imagine getting yelled at BEFORE YOU GET OFF OF THE BUS!!!!!!!  Yep, his time there is going to be tough if he didn't learn a lesson from that!!!

Hi All,

So happy to be part of this group. So exciting we all will be together 5-27 and this day is going to be so amazing. I can't wait to see my soilder,  He send me a little note saying all is well and he hasn't been yelled out yet. I'm so proud of him. I look forward to the countdown with you all till 5-27..

Good idea.  I think they counfused the recruits too because my son said something about a Thursday PIR and I corrected him.  I can live with whatever, but I would be very sad to see him only at graduation and kiss him good bye.  We will definitely go to the airport and I will hope for Saturday morning.  I'm encouraged now.

Jessica,

My form letter states that graduation is on May 27th.

Jessica, I'm confused.  Where did you hear the graduation would be Thursday?  My letter said 5/27.  I did hear from my son today.  He's sick and he said all of boot is sick.  He's ok, though he did say it is tougher than they all thought it would be.  sounds like 11/180 is coming together, bonding over misery.  He also thinks his division will ship to A school right away. What does this mean in terms of days and time with my boy?  Thanks.
