Great point I will book my hotel ASAP!

CRF230dad and mmiles, We went ahead and reserved a room (online) for Thursday the 26th even though we don't have the official letter yet confirming the 5/27 PIR. Room reservations can be cancelled without penalty up to one day prior. Our challenge is booking the airfare because of our SR's sister is  graduating college on May 28th.  Airfare is costly with a refundable fare. Everything has a way of working out though.

I read I may not get our 1st letter until 4/13-15. I"m afraid the choices for hotels will be slim by then. I'm on the west coast I don't know if that makes a difference. I will try his recruiter again in the morning. If it is 5/27 will he leave for A school (P-cola) on Tuesday because of Memorial day or still fly out Saturday or Sunday as planned.

@ Jessica B.Saiior mom How do you know The 6/3 PIR group has been formed? My son left for boot on 3/29 and we have not heard a word yet, no letter, no nothing yet. I assume given the first 4 days as P-week he would have PIR on 6/3. At least that's what we are going on for now. I did PM the Chief from his recruiting office on FB and he responded that he is in ship 11 division 181 but I am waiting for an official letter before starting letters to him.

Thank you!  I went to freeflashtoys.com and then chose the options above.  If you scroll down from the first line of choices (skeleton themes which I vetoed) you can find patriotic backgrounds.  Then I chose the colors for the wording.  It was a fun little project and I already am enjoying seeing the minutes count down.
