She is in Pensacola, waiting for school to start. I believe she starts in August. They have quite a back log. She is loving the Navy, they are on the beach and she has been able to watch the Blue Angels practice. Until school starts she has been doing duty watch, 4 days on 4 days off.

Well, I received the letter today with all the graduation information. My son is Div. 184 graduating on 5-27. I really thought he would graduate on 6-3-11.

I did, now my nephew is graduating on 5/27. Offering support for his wife and my sister. I might be able to also help with some questions.

OMG - How awesome is that?  Hopefully we'll get to meet at PIR (or before)!  To think that I'm getting so excited for a day that's still like 7 weeks away!  Sounds so far off... Hopefully the time between now and then will past fast for us (and them)!!

joankf:  I hope that the dates all work out for you.  I thought my youngest son would be taking exams then (which is what would have happened had PIR been on 05/20) but he will be out of school by then.  I hope you get to spend good quality time with both of your daughters.

goMahvelous:  I know you didn't realize it but that was me on the RDC page that told you about the graduations!  A lady I work with had a daughter in the 900 division so she clued me in on some stuff.  Her daughter performed for 3 graduations also.  At least this way we have 2 chances to see our SRs on Facebook before we get up there.  I scour every picture on that page so see if I might get lucky and catch a glimpse of him.  I know they will be ok but just one picture would be so wonderful to see.  Our turn will come; one day it may be us being the moms telling the newbies what's going on!!!  Wouldn't that be a hoot!

Wish you all well this weekend.

proud: We are staying at the Quality Inn in Waukegan too.

me too, Jessica.  Can't imagine that they ALL move over there at once....but then I heard that the corpsmen would be going to San Antonio from now on instead of staying at GL?  We'll have to wait and see....

We fly on business and pleasure so no fears there. Our main concern is time as our youngest daughter graduates from College in NY on Saturday May 28th at 9:30 AM therefore we MUST fly.  We will drive to her college on Thursday and fly in and out from there. There is a flight out of O'hare around 9 PM on Friday night so we'll eek out as much time with our daughter as possible after PIR.  This is a whirlwind!

goMahvelous thanks a bunch!  I appreciate someone else having the same thing.  What are the chances they're both wrong??? Not much!

I booked our room today with Quality Inn in Waukegan.  Very reasonable, not far from the base.  I'm hoping it is at least an ok hotel.  Didn't realize airline tickets were so expensive!  I am a bad flier, meaning the ONLY way I can fly is with tranquilizers and alcohol combined (not much alcohol).  I always said I would never get on another plane so I'm also looking into driving, Amtrak and Greyhound.  Amtrak and Greyhound's fares are reasonable and the trip is 20 hours on either one.  Just so many decisions to make and we have to make them so far away from PIR.  That's what makes me nervous.  So much can happen between now and then.  Guess I'll just have to have faith that it will all work out.  The flying is definitely looking less and less attractive...!

The Quality Inn, I did not have to pay anything now, and she said I could cancel or change up to 24hrs before the check in date.
