My husband said in is most recent letter that after this week, they'll get more letter writing time.  Mostly, he expressed concern that this was going to be a challenging week for them given that they have tests and such everyday.

Julie: diannep is right.  They have their PFA (Personal Fitness Assessment), inspections, Test 2(?), drill inspection and some weapons training.  It just sounds a little stressful.  He seems to think things will be better after this week.

We stayed at the Navy Lodge, It was fine for us, especially for the price and the little time we spent there. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Of course I was exhausted from driving for 16 hours so that could have something to do with it lol. If I went again I would gladly stay there.

Julie:  It is called Hell Week, from what we know, because of all that they have to do during that week and they are up earlier each day.

texasmom:  Lala stayed at Navy Lodge.  She enjoyed it.

ProudNavyMom:  By week #4 in training, things get easier for them...more positive.  That is Hell Week which is very busy for them, and they are up earlier each dy, but things just start to "click" after that.  It is still challenging for them, but very different from the beginning.  They know then that within a little over 2 weeks, they will be sailors!

From what I have learned, you don't really know exactly how much time until PIR week.  The RTC FB page has said that SRs will fly out on that Friday.  That's good news.  The bad news about that, though, is that 1:00AM counts as Friday, too.  :(  Grad-n-go, from what I gather, refers to the SRs who graduate and then go across the street to check into their A-School at Great Lakes.  The Navy pretty much tries to fly the SRs out that weekend.

Good evening, I haven't received a letter this week. :(  I was hoping that I would get something letting me know how many days I will get to see him when we get there.  Does anyone know.  OMG he made it mom - how many days are you staying? I know that some are a grad and go and some don't leave until Monday which will probably be tuesday since it is a holiday week-end.  We are staying at the Navy Lodge.  Has anyone ever stayed there before.  Is it on the good side?  I know it is only 1.5 miles a way. It shouldn't be to bad I wouldn't think and it says it has a full kitchen.

I am shocked and a little proud to say that I actually received 2 letters today from my son!  I couldn't believe it!  He was even a little "chatty".  Let me know what they had facing them all week.  I haven't heard from him so I'm hoping that means he passed 2nd PFA on Monday.  Still glad to know that once you pass swimming once you don't have to do it over.  He seems to think things will get easier after this week.  Maybe he knows something I don't????  He sounds strong, good and happy so that's really all a mother could ever ask for.
