This is the final test for your SRs.  It is an overnight 12 hr drill that tests them on all they have learned and may encounter when deployed on a ship.  It takes place on the Disney-created USS…Continue

OMG:  Many take the train into Chicago and explore.  The train ride is cheap.  My son was Sat Departure so we had little time to do much and stayed around Great Lakes.  But the things you mentioned are good....Navy Pier is fun for alot of them (closed when we were there...winter).  There is a Six Flags nearby but I don't recommend you go there on a holiday weekend!  Maybe some of the other veteran ladies will jump on and give you better ideas.

Please pray for thefamily of David Brooks Ferrell Jr., 18 here in Greensboro NC, he left home after a fight with his mother last week. He had been depressed. He never came back. No one could get him on the phone and he car was not found. Untill today. It was found in a lake in Greensboro with a body inside. They have not said for sure that it is him in the car but you have to know it is...Please pray for this family. Please pray for this mother...I can not imagine....

I got a check in the mail today from B. In the memo it said "gift for Momma" that was so sweet of him, I know he wants us to use it for the trip but I was thinking I would use it to get something for him.....maybe try to find a good used laptop?

HisSailor- I know what you mean about crying to the patriotic songs. I still do that sometimes. And, my daughter let May 25th for bootcamp last year. The next week I was at my Water Gym class and the instructor thought it would be great to play patriotic music throughout our class. I had tears in my eyes and could barely see to swim by the end of the first song but when Anchor's Aweigh came on I pretty much lost and got out of the pool. Everyone was so worried about me and they came to the dressing room to make sure I was okay lol. They understood when I said my daughter is at boot camp :-)

Proud NaVy Mom: That is assuming that he actually was buried at sea.  I could easily see that they are saying that to 1) keep the Jihadists from getting even more up in arms, and 2) to keep them from having an actual body to worship\revere.  As for the Islamic customs regarding burial, it just has to be within 24 hours and has nothing to do with being buried at sea.  If the body was, to quote the National Security Advisor's mispeak from a Q&A earlier, "disposed" of at sea, then they probably just dumped it overboard.

I just realized that we're only four days away from being in the teens for the PIR countdown.  Where did the time go!?!  Yay!

OBL is so fortunate that he was able to have a proper Islamic burial at sea following his religious ideals. Too bad the people of 09/11 weren't afforded that same luxury. I'm sure those families would have loved to have had a proper burial for their loved ones...

I didn't realize this picture was on there and I believe I might have taken it!  How funny is that!  Maybe I didn't take it but I was sitting close enough to have taken it.  Those were the good old days...

I didn't even knew it existed, but I stalked our SR on FB the other day like a crazy!
