Proud Navy Mom, stay positive it will happen!! I know it's hard, I pray you get a call soon! I tell myself every day no news is good news it's hard but I'm actually starting to believe it and that is sort of scary...

I am so very happy for all of you that are receiving calls but I must admit that my heart breaks a little more every time I hear that someone else has gotten a call.  Seems like they're letting a lot of the divisions call but no my SRs division.  Since the calls seem to be somewhat random it makes me wonder if my SR has even gotten my mail.  I think each division has a postal person so not one person delivers all of the mail.  It would help so much if I knew ANYTHING!  Something my son said in his only letter home has me concerned and I want to clarify what he told me but can't do that with no phone calls or mail :(  Sorry guys I'm just feeling sorry for myself tonight.  For some reason this whole boot camp thing has been somewhat easier than I thought but this week I am in a really bad place.  It's the 4th week so you would think I would have gotten upset before now.  Anyway, congratulations to all of the parents who got calls.  Now you can go to sleep tonight with smiles on your faces!!!!! LOL

joankf yes they would definitely confiscate it.  They can't have anything at boot camp except letters.  Sorry, I would like to send my SR something too.  They've been sugar-free for a while now...can you imagine what chocolate would do to them?????

I saw this really cute chocolate bar that had camouflage bunnies on it at the grocery today.  Do any of you know whether they would confiscate it if we sent our SR candy for Easter?

I have been working very hard at staying ahead of the PIR ribbon orders. I promised some of you who ordered that I would post a comment when the ribbons were shipped. All the ribbons for this PIR group who have ordered and paid were shipped today. You should have them by the weekend. I think you are going to love them :-) and I know you will wear them with pride.

Thanks for the information! I honestly don't know what I would do without this site and all of you! Hopefully the call comes tonight (for you too julie), if not though, maybe tomorrow. I don't care if its a minute long, just want to hear his voice!

Ria, I am sure they will call tomorrow IF what my son told me about the division getting a reward call is correct.  Other Moms/wives have mentioned the flagging of the test, so I think it's true.  As far as the never get to call thing, Jessica explained it as the whim of the RDC, not necessarily that they are in trouble at all.  I am so sorry you have to wonder but I am PRAYING you get your call tomorrow latest.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on April 20, 2011 at 9:51pm
Some RDC's are a lot harder than others. And some recruits get a call as a reward for doing something well. Some will loose a call for not doing something they were supposed to. And some even loose a chance to call because they were getting a wisdom tooth pulled or something like that. But if that happens they usually get to make up the call a little later. Also, some call a girlfriend or boyfriend instead of mom. Hang in there, the calls will come :-)

If they were on watch, does that mean they get no call at all? so they won't get to make one tomorrow?
