Yeah for some rates there is only one A-school. My daughter is an AO and I looked it up after she left for bootcamp. I wrote her a letter and asked her what she thought of going to Pensacola for A-school and told her all the other stuff I had learned on this site and online. She wrote me back asking me questions about what she would be doing. I knew more about it than she did lol. Then she sent a letter asking about some of her friends there. They all wanted to know where they would be going as well. I learned a lot while she was at boot camp :-) N4M's and Google were my best friends lol.

My son's contract had a "guaranteed A School" clause in it.  I had no clue what that meant, but he knew before he left for bc that he would be sent to Meridian.  I know that they are all different....

many of them leave a copy of their enlistment papers with you when they swore in at MEPS or they may have mailed it back in the box with their stuff. That tells what their rate is and then you can ask here or look it up on google and find out where A-school is.

MommaCindy, if your SR went into BC with a specific rate (job), you may be able to get an idea of where they could go.  Some of the SR's were told, by their recruiters, prior to BC where they might go for their A school.  Although some recruiters don't give out that information to the recruits.  Do you know what rate your SR is going to be?  Maybe you could ask your SR if they know, in your next letter?

How do you know wha A school your SR is going to?  I haven't spoken to my son to find out where he is going.  Is there another way to find out?

How exciting to get a letter, I am still waiting patiently.  Glad to hear your SR is doing well.
