Jessica, Do you have any advice on what we should start packing our recruits for A school. My son will be heading to MS. Will he be allowed to have shorts for his down time? What about his cell phone & Xbox?

I need to finish packing up my sons room, we might have to move this coming summer and we dont expect him till oct or nov with A school. I cant even think about cleaning that mess...too emotional still.

That is awesome!! Sounds like me!! I work full time but have down time at work then I jump on my Blackberry and look at the site/posts!! I will happily admit my addiction at pulling this site up often for more tidbits of information throughout my day. I feel like by connecting with you all I feel more a part of what my son is doing!!

Southwest Airlines, I know not the most popular right now, but will allow you to chnage your flights without a fee unless there is a prices difference. I have had to do it many times over the years with them.

JessicaB - odd question for you.....are you a stay at home mom? You always seem to post at the drop of the hat, 24/7. Don't get me wrong!!! Its great for the rest of us since those of you that have been around a while are a wealth of knowledge!! Thank you for sharing with us newbies!!

Lisa, there's always a chance that an SR will be delayed for some reason, so yes definitely make sure that tickets or hotel rooms are refundable.

Well, we do get issued garment bags in BC, however they are poor quality. My suggestion would be to wait until they get to A school. They'll be traveling in dress uniform there, and there will be drycleaners available, and irons and ironing boards in their barracks rooms. If they decide they need/want one after that, it wouldn't be hard to get one to them.
