Proud Navy Mom or any Groton sub moms: My son called this morning and said that he gets to leave base with us after PIR til 6:00 pm (he wants to be back by 5:00 pm). He flying out of Ohare at 6:00 am Friday morning (they are leaving RTC at 3:00 am). Don't know if all Grotons will fly together or not, but my son has his tickets. We'll be going to the airport to see him off, then we are flying out of Midway at 10:30 am. He wants a private shower with real shampoo, qtips and underwear. Oh, and a good meal or two. We are staying at the Residence Inn and our room has a living room area, so he said he just wants to get some food and hang-out.

Congratuations to all the new sailors. We have been rooting for you. Everyone have a safe trip. We are leaving in the morning.
