They have called in the PA National Guard to Pittsburgh. The city is still a mess and there are so many people without power. So, the National Guard will be getting people to warming stations and helping to clear some of the roads.

Kathy, I guess a large broom just won't do it this time. Looks like we are getting another 4 to 6 inches on Tuesday. So tomorrow I will have to brave the food stores, along with everyone else in town. Then it will be back to hibernating for a while. You know, come to think of it, maybe bears have the right idea. Just go to sleep and wake up in the Spring.

Not only would I like to send you our 23 inches, but could I send you the 4 to 6 inches we are suppose to get starting on Tuesday?

Your girls make me laugh. I love all the groundhog blogs.
You're a good mom Carolyn and you are there for your kids.

I just heard Philly had close to 24 inches. I'm not venturing out to confirm. I'll stay comfy & cozy by the fire today. Maybe I'll bake some cookies. I'm so glad it's the weekend.

That looks just like my front yard! Fortunately, my car is in a garage.

We live just north of Pittsburgh. We ended up with 24 inches instead of the 8 inches they predicted. We are staying in for the near future. We are very fortunate that we have power because about 100,000 people in the area are out of power. I just hope everyone starts checking in so we know they are OK.

I know what you mean, I grew up on Long Island. I can cook anything that can be found on or near a beach. The only ground hog I ever heard about was Phil, and that was on the national news every Feb.

I have no clue either, I'm originally from NJ. Ask me a shore/beach question, I could probably answer it. The only thing I know about groundhogs is that they make nasty holes. We had one at work, dug from the front of the building to the street, casued the curb to collapse. I'm for frying Phil.

I wonder how you would know if it was a Phil or Phyllis? Can you tell I'm a city kid?
