Hey does anyone know when a soldier gets his taxes done if they have to pay state taxes from where their home state is? My son did his taxes and it said that he had to over 500.00 for state. My husband said he thought the military was exempt from paying state taxes. If anyone can answer my question it would be much appreciated.

Have a safe trip and a wonderful visit with your son. San Diego is a beautiful part of southern CA.

Yup, I agreee. I would definitely kill him!! That is something he can only get away with when you are that far away. BTW, my son got 2 weeks leave after A school, so you might get to see him in the near future.

A school grad is just some one handing him some paperwork and sending him on his way.

We didn't go to my son's graduation either. I originally told him I wanted to even if it was me and he said it is a quick one and he was coming home anyway at that time. That was a year ago. He said it was very small too. I would have loved to go but when he said that I decided not to. His dad was going to go too and spend time with him down in PCola but he had to move into a new place and make room for the next crew coming in. I am not sure of what to tell you because I know as a mom you want to be there but I would talk to him and see what he says first and go from there.

The graduation at Goose Creek, SC is a very large graduation. My husband loved it and we took my sons grandparents because they couldn't make it to the PIR. We got to see the base and helped my son move his stuff off base. He went from there to Saratoga, so he had to move off the base that day.

Trish, I'm voting for Hershey if we do a state get together. Good friends and chocolate, what could be better!

Steve and I had a wonderful time on Sunday. It was so nice to be able to meet other Navy families. I look forward to being able to meet more of you in the future. My son is about to leave on an extended deployment. I'm not taking this as well as when his Dad left years ago. I guess it was hearing that we would not hear from him for several months. He is after all my baby.

Denise, I am sorry I am not going to be able to make it on Sunday. I was looking forward to it, too. I will come to the next one though when you guys have one.

Denise, Please tell me that it is Sunday and not Saturday. Both my husband and I will be there at 1pm.
