Anti M are you speaking of the Burning Man?

If you can use another rental other than U-Haul, do so. U-haul has the worst maintenance record of all, and their trailers and trucks are very liable to breakdown. Their roadside service is horrendous. Look at Bidget, Ryder and Penske to compare prices. I have many, may friends all over the country who rent once a year for an event in Nevada. U-Haul is always on the bottom of the reliability list.

PPM, you should go with him to meet with the Personal Property Office. Figure out how your gonna do this. We have some great advice articles located above in the discussion.

Also, if your using Uhaul, do not accept their first offer, They quoted me $1,400. Our ending total with 10 extra days was $789 because we bartered with them.

Alright ladies I've found some new websites and have been updating the discussion. Yeah for more info. Honestly I'm a part of 4 military spouse boards and this is by far the most complete move helping section. If you here of any one in chat moving send them the link to here. They need to check out our discussions pages there awesome and full of good info.

No, They should set up all of your furniture and unpack every box. They are paid for a complete move. Way to many military families let them unload, the boxes and leave. They may tell you that they don't have to unpack them but they do; if they packed it they must unpack it.

I would suggest buying them lunch or dinner and tipping them. It always gets things moving faster.

When they unpack, all they have to do to qualify is to cut the box off of the bottom, if you are nice to them, they will help but depending on the moving company, they are only paid $45 to do an entire unpack... Treat the ones who unpack the best, I am pregnant, and I at the time of the move also. They were very good about placing things where I wanted them. They lifted and moved things when I realized that they were in the wrong room. They only sent the driver one person to help unload the truck... So be kind and realize that there will not be much help.

If you pack things yourself, they are not insured against damage. Do NOT pack tings, but you can arrange things in groups, toss and sort and donate what you do not use.
