OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It's true. And don't forget to thank him for the lack of communication!

Isn't it stupid? I thought we were all out of high school.

Yep found out about that yesterday on Stars and Stripes. That's why the communication has been down. The Admiral is monitoring communication now. I suppose hoping it wouldn't get out but uuuuuh... yeah. My husband said that the Admiral promised he would personally punish any Sailor that told anyone. So I had to do my own snooping. Lol I didn't post it publicly, but I'm glad someone did!! I was having trouble holding it in.

My hubby got his Yesterday as well. At least one of the packages. He's still waiting on everything else. Guess they got held up somewhere along the way.

Chopperdad at another group called "USS Peleliu LHA 5" posted this:

Mail is going to be late:

Dear White Knights,
If you had any concerns about undelivered mail ~ be advised that all mail shipments are late.
The good news is that at the next port all mail should arrive to the Marine/Sailor.

Send those packages your Marine/Sailor will definitely appreciate it.

Semper Fidelis,
Judith Avans
HMM-165 White Knights
Family Readiness Officer

Hope this helps! : )

Hello Ladies! I got back from San diego on the 21st. Adam is on the Pearl Harbor. I have talked to him thru email the whole time he has been gone! I wish I would have known some of you were there! This is the first deployment and man is it a longgggggg one! I went on the ship before he left but I dreaded the 945 call to "leave the ship" And standing there the whole time was just so upsetting. I just wanted them to stay or go. He said the seas are very rough but they are calming down, also the time change is killing me. I'm in EST. So In order to email I stay up for most of the night.I feel like he has been gone forever! But it hasn't even been a week. I hope to stay in touch with you gals, this is becoming a stressful time as the days pass.
