Hi!  We are back from our weekend in SD.  Had a great time with my son!  Saw the ship and met some of his shipmates.  He seems happy with his shop and the people he works with.  It sounds like they will be visiting many ports in the next several months.  I'm really hoping we hear from him regularly.  He gets busy and forgets to communicate with us.  So happy to have this website for additional info.

My son will have leave after deployment also, but I really want to see the ship pull in.  I have four airline credits because I bought tickets to surprise him for his birthday and they changed the underway schedule!!  I was devestated!  Then he couldn't get the second leave before deployment for his cousins wedding, it was like a family reunion....It was a bummer!  Welcome to the Navy, I guess!!

I used to live in Boston, Plymouth actually. My mom is from Portland, ME , My nephew lives in N Hampton, NH and I have many cousins in MA.  I am originally from NJ...now live in IL.  Miss the east coast so much....

Yes my son is deploying tomorrow also. He just flew in yesterday to San Diego from Hawaii. It is also his first deployment. My son is going to take leave when he gets back so we will probably not be going out when they return. :(

My son is also on the Peleliu and deploying tomorrow.  I am hoping to get out to San Diego when they return in December... He was home a couple of weeks ago.

Hi Bonnie.  My son is also on the USS Peleliu and this will be his first deployment.  We are heading to SD for a visit with him this weekend.

Hello all my son is about to be deployed in the next week or so on the USS Peliliu. Anyone else out there have their Sailor being shipped out with him?

I am grateful everyone is home safe.  Unfortunately I was not able to enjoy the festivities however I just have to wait until my Son comes back to Colorado on the 28th.  Can't wait to hug him.
