Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

macmom, The address is the same for the entire base (I am assuming as my son has moved several times), but you must have your Sailors BEQ number and room number.

Comment by Tiff(Ship 11 Div 057) on January 23, 2013 at 1:30pm

Yes it is a roller coaster a sad one at that lol. I just miss him soooooo much I never thought I would miss certain things that he did or liked to do. I use to get really mad when he would walk in the door and drop his gym bag at the door but now I wish I could walk by the door and it be sitting there or he loved popcor (I hate it) but I miss it so much lol. We went to the movies Saturday and he got some and left it with me while he went to the bathroom hahah I cried BC I missed it that much
Ahhh I wish my roller coaster would hurry up and drop me off in great lakes in 2 weeks lol wishful thinking.

Im just curious if its just me or any other moms and wives are experiencing what im going threw? I wasn't that upset when my husband left for boot camp of course i cried but i had other things to worry about at home having a toddler running around plus being pregnant. I seen my husband finally this weekend and im so depressed and sad i cant stop crying i dont want to eat or do anything. I am suppose to move to GL with him in about three weeks once he does our housing paperwork. But i cant help but to be very sad is anyone else going threw this or am i just crazy lol??
