~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Denise:  We stayed at Residence for my son's PIR and really enjoyed it.  Make sure if you plan to take the shuttle to PIR to sign up for it when you check in.  We went on the 6:30 one.  Perfect timing for us.  It should be $3/pp each way.

Residence, Courtyard, and Springhill are all there close together and close to Sarge's MeetandGreet. Springhill and Courtyard are next to the Walmart shopping center.  Residence is just "up the road" a little.  All good places to stay!

lhawkins:  Correct.  Those moving over to GL A School will do so shortly after PIR is over (bussed over).  Make sure your sailor has a phone card to call you when ready for you to pick up (sometimes they can borrow a cell of someone already there).  It takes 2-3 hours usually.  Your sailor will know what time to return to base that night once checked into GL A School.  Laptops/cells can go back to base with them when they return from liberty.  Your sailor will also know how early you can pick up the next morning.  Sometimes it may be 6 a.m., sometimes returning as late as 10 p.m.  Just depends.  Your sailor could have "watch" at some point during the weekend which could affect some of their liberty time, but plan on daytime with them Fri-Sun.

Hi Ladies, I am so excited!!!  Can't believe we get to see our sailors next week.  Does anyone know the schedules for our sailors once graduation is over?  My son stays in the Great Lakes for A School so I guess he has to move in there after graduation.  I have read that it could take a couple hours.  when can we get them and what time do they have to be back and that would go for Saturday as well.  Sunday I guess I would have to come back to say good bye because I have an early flight home.  Anyone know?  Can't wait to see you all next week!!! woo hoo!
