~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

This is the hat it will be in our photoshot but i wanted him to wear it the day of graduation since it was the first time his dad would see him. But wasnt sure if he could now and it would be in the US Navy colors not the army which is pictured in the link.http://www.etsy.com/listing/103289639/personalized-acu-hat-newborn-...
Tiff - Do you mean that your newborn has a hat that goes with his outfit or do you mean adding Daddy's lid for a photo op?
FTLW i was reading the link for PIR and noticed this Oh..... and bring $5 bucks to buy you 4 yr old a dixie cup (Sailors hat, or Lid as the sailors call it). They are NOT ever allowed to try on or wear any part of a military uniform, so they sell these hats to help prevent that and kids love it (it's their size too). They sell them near the coffee stand inside the hall, but they go quickly, so find your seat, then go get a hat before they are gone!
So does this mean the outfit that i have bought for my newborn he cant wear its just a military hat?? Its for a photoshot and i thought it was cute for him to wear at graduation but didnt know if he could.
Just a little "business" today (I will be posting this on all the PIR groups), Nobody has done anything wrong, it's just an FYI since we have had a few new members in the last couple of days and a gentle reminder as we go along.
If your last name is in your username and it is the same as your recruits, you will need to change your username please. Last names of Recruits/Sailors are not permitted on the N4M's website.
If it is not the same we still recommend not using it for your own personal security...but it is of course your choice.
Here is a link to a PAGE that will explain how to change your username and some other settings for your personal Profile Page.
"How do I change my Settings?"
Also, for new members please make sure you read the N4M’s Community Guidelines and OPSEC PAGE.
Have a great day!

That's right karens! They also say ..."seaman recruit don't taste so good."...and uh other thigns depending on the RDC!
They also refer to the RDC's as Sharks and their office is called the Shark tank sometimes.
Ninja's at BC are a "mythological being" (if you know what I mean!) ...and do what you say they do...at anytime I think though!
I think this is right but other veteran moms would know better.SHARKS: The SR's lay on their stomach "swimming" and say "Please don't eat me Mr Shark" over and over, Ninja's come out after "Taps" to scare the SR's part of "Hell Week"
Thanks Diannep, it worked! Once again you came to my rescue.
Have a question. I am going to send the questionaire from the site. but I dont know what a ninja is and a shark...lol.. need to know these things before i send that. Cant wait for my first letter to come. But i did get a call last week.
