Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 069 and 070

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My SR is Div 069. We received another letter today and 2 on Saturday!  I can't believe what a good letter writer he has turned out to be. :)  The letters are great but the phone calls are the best.  Hearing his upbeat voice helps us to relax!  Christmas will be hard without him but we plan to make up for it on his birthday in Feb.!!!

My SR is in DIV 069 and we've only received one letter on December 7th, he usually would write a lot, I'm surprised and hope he's ok.

My son is div 069.  I have received 3 letters!!!  woot woot!  he is also sick with sinus stuff.  Poor guys!

He sounds very upbeat and most importantly happy.

I'm behind as I have not made any arrangements for PIR as of yet. This is all so new to us!

Anyone from near Clarksville, IN?

got a bonus call tonight.  Only 5 minutes but it made my day!  Best Christmas present ever!!!!  He is doing well.  Last week he missed out on phone call because he had pink eye!   Said many of them have colds but doing fine.  Next week is Hell Week so he probably won't get to call.  Hope others from 070 got calls too!

I received two letters today and my son is giving me last names of buddies he has made and is asking me to look up their moms on here.    Any suggestions on how to do this since we do not use last names?  He is in 070.

We'll that's going to be a tuff one.

JennMidg:  Did he by chance give you their hometowns too?  If so, you can use initials of the SRs and hometowns.  If you get a response here, friend request that person and you can talk in more detail privately.

Just read about "Sarge's Meet and Greet" at the Sundance.  That is close to our hotel so I'm hoping we can go.  My son is in DIV 070.  Looking forward to his PIR!

My son is also 070 and we are staying at the SpringHill Suites.  I looked on the map and it is close to Sarge's Meet and Greet.  I already put in my RSVP.  We are looking forward to our son's PIR also.  Can't believe it is in 18 days.  Haven't heard anything from him since Christmas but I figure they are into the intense training.  We say our prayers for all the recruits successful transition to sailor!!!

The letter I received yesterday from my SR (Div 070) was chock full of stress and panic. He's struggling with push ups and has failed two PT tests. He said if he fails the third they will push back his graduation, and he won't do the PIR next Friday. I'm trying to stay positive, but his heart will break and morale will plummet if he doesn't make it. I'll take all prayers, positive thoughts and good ju-ju...anything you have for him to help him dig down deep and find the strength, both physical and mental, to push through this last week. Keep your fingers crossed I'll be seeing you all next Friday!

HI suemar74. When was the letter dated?  The recruits work as a team and the RDC's want them all to succeed.  I will pray that he improves on all his tests and will get to graduate with his shipmmates.  Here is a prayer that I say for my recruit that I saw somewhere recently.  I don't know if it was posted on this site.  I say it on a regular basis for my SR.

A Prayer for My Recruit

Father, in the coming days I will need You, but my recruit will need You more; Let him perform his tasks with sense of duty, not of anger or vengeance; Let his reflexes be quick and his hands steady; Let his head be clear and his eyes sharp; Let his mind and body be strong and his spirit stronger; Christ, please stand by my recruit and watch his back when he cannot Father, I love this recruit of mine.  Take from ME, what he needs and give me what he does not.; I will pace the nights, if it means he gets some sleep; I will deal with fatigue, if it means he will have energy; I will carry his fear if it means it gives him courage; I will take his pain, if it means he is healthy and whole; I will take his anger, if it means he is at peace.  Take from me my love and pride and let him feel it.  Let him know that I am with him every step of the way.  Please, take from me what you can; I give it willingly and with love.  It is all that I have besides my prayers.  Above all, please help my recruit achieve his goal of becoming a United States Naval Sailor.  This I ask on bended knee, that which I cannot do with out you.  Amen.

Keeping my fingers crossed and prayers flowing that your recruit will be marching proudly and I will see you next friday.  Hang in there!

Thank you so much, Lilo...that is beautiful :)  He doesn't date his letters, but I'm guessing it was written Sunday the 11th. It's been his pattern since he's been settled into his ship. I'm hopeful...always hopeful. Thank you again!
