Thanks for the great tips! I was wondering if anyone knows when we should stop sending letters to our SRs.
CatMom509, thank you for the tips and the scripture! I have been really been getting anxious about getting around for PIR, so these tips are great, and I just included that scripture reading in today's letter to my SR! Thank you!!!
Hey, I just posted my "PERTINENT PIR TIPS" up in the Discussion Forum, which is my practical tips from being at PIR in March 2013. Please check it out for any tips you can use for your own PIR~~
Friends,
This scripture is so appropriate for the Battlestations that your SRs will be going through soon. Perhaps you can share with your SR in a letter now.
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you; and when you pass
through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord,
your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..."
Isaiah 43:1b-3a
Hello Everyone~~
"I can do all things through Christ
Who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13
Good Morning!
I received my PIR ribbons/neckerchiefs yesterday and I absolutely love them (tried to upload a pic of them but I'm apparently not tech savvy enough)!!! I ordered them on New Years Eve and they shipped the day after, meaning they were made and packaged on New Years Day! When I emailed PIRgifts.com to let them know how much I love these, this was the response I got:
Thank you so much for the feedback.
It's funny how we got started on the ribbons. I talk at various Delayed Entry Program meetings in town. One item that constantly gets attention during uniform inspections is the sailors neckerchief. It's about the only uniform item the sailor really has to do by themselves. All other uniform components are made for them, or the cleaned by the local dry cleaners. That's why supervisors are always focused on them. To teach these sailors how to tie the neckerchief I spent hours with them. But they ended up getting them perfect. I told them, that if you make them perfect, I would sell them and use the money to give them a pizza party before they leave for boot camp. With yours, and the other 3 other, we will have that party now...
I wanted something that has the true Navy spirit behind it. Those neckerchief ribbons do the trick! They look great, and to be tied by a future sailor is really cool!
So... Thank you for helping me keep these future sailors motivated with your purchase.
PIRGifts.com is actually being run as a non-profit company. We donate to many organizations. We are the only company that donates each week to Sarges Meet-n-Greet. We want to give back to our community, and mankind.
Again, thank you for the nice message. I will show it to the gang. It will cheer them up....
Craig
